Accused of trying to be wonder woman
So, this is a bit of a vent and I wanted feedback from other experiences you all may have had. Giving a bit of back story, I should be returning to school this fall to finish my prerequisites, take the MCAT and eventually apply for medical school. I'm 25, married with two young children. My husband is actually 100% supportive of my dream and goal to possibly become an OBGYN (I say possibly, because I could end up falling in love with another specialty). This past year, I've been... family medicine obstetrics
Just wanted to spread the word about the new board certification for family medicine obstetrics..... http://www.abpsus.org/certification/family_medicine_obstetric/index.html As an FM R1 interested in doing an ob fellowship in a few years, I was very excited to see there is starting to be official certification available. It seems that having such a stamp of approval will only serve to help those who want to pursue surgical obstetrics as a family physician. What are everyone's... family medicine obstetrics (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Honest Advice Needed
Hi, I am a Senior graduating a year early and I did not do so well during undergrad. I am looking for a post bac program that has a bridge program to a medical school either DO or MD. Mainly a program that will enhance my GPA and possible has an MCAT prep course in the program. My overall goal is to become an OBGYN so I am not completely focused on a research institution. If anyone can please list any Post Bac or MS programs that have these criterias that would be great. (Source: Student Doctor Network)

NP, PA, MD, or DO?
My fiancée wants to go into obstetrics, but we're have issues determining what the best path to that may be. I was wondering if people could speak to the differences between the actual practice of NPs, PAs, and MDs/DOs in the field. We would also love any help in the cost/benefit analysis in terms of debt, salary, malpractice, etc, and years to completion and so forth. There's a lot of differing information on the web, and we're just not sure where to start. Thank you!!! (Source: Student Doctor Network)

VSAS and low step 1
Hey all, long time since I've swung by here. I am starting to think about away rotations and I really have some programs in my top choices and I was wondering if step score can affect them choosing you. I want to do obgyn and I got a 217 but I have an excellent extracurricular record and my evaluation from my gyn rotation is excellent. What are my chances of being chosen in a program like Brigham and Womens or Tufts? thanks (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Switching from OBGYN to PM & R
Hey y'all, I'm currently a 2nd year OBGYN resident, however I've come to realize that OBGYN doesn't fit me. I've decided that I will pursue my original goals and will be applying to PM&R residencies this cycle. However, the whole process seems daunting and I was hoping that there was someone here who has done what I'll be attempting and could give me some incite into their experience. What concerns me most is that I might not be the strongest candidate to begin with and on top of that,... Switching from OBGYN to PM&R (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Ob/Gyn Textbooks
Hi! I am a 4th year student that just matched into Ob/Gyn. I am pretty sure I matched into a program that doesn't give money for textbooks. So, what does everyone recommend? I already have a Williams Obstetrics. I'd appreciate any input on what might be beneficial. Obviously, I can't buy them all at one time but my Mom is having me set up an Amazon WishList. Thanks for any help! (Source: Student Doctor Network)

What areas are failure friendly?
I failed COMLEX level 1 last year and retook it and passed. Just got my step 2 score back and scored a few points shy of 600. I didn't take USMLE and was planning on applying strictly AOA. My grades from the first two years are average as compared to the rest of my class. 3rd year grades are mainly high pass with a few honors sprinkled in. I have 4 research projects/posters and 2 publications pending. My goal was OBGYN but I'm almost certain I shot myself in the foot with a failure on... What areas are failure friendly?
