Coding Project vs Research
Hi, I am a nontrad premed looking to apply in 2025 cycle. Here is my question: I have been looking for a research team to join but I have not found the one with the topic that I am very passionate about. During this wild goose chase, I have found my passion in programming and AI. I am an ICU nurse and I feel like I hear about implementation of AI in healthcare all the time. AI in radiology, AI in EP, AI in etc. If I start in August, I think I will be able to pump out several programming... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Is it too late for me to strive for a T-20 School?
I'm at a normal 4-year public college, I began as a nursing major, and I switched to a biology major. For my freshman year I had a 3.4 gpa first semester, and a 3.0 gpa the next semester. After that I did some soul searching and switched to Biology. Since then I have gotten straight A's and my gpa is around a 3.60. I'm an incoming Junior and I am set to graduate in 2025. I believe that I will be able to get straight A's-A minuses until graduation, I know it obviously will not be easy but... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Transcript Question, Paramedic School
Hello everyone, I plan on applying this cycle and my application has been completed for over two weeks besides this one major issue which has prevented me from submitting. The Paramedic program was marketed on their website that I would receive college credit and obtain national registry... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Difference between anesthesiologist and CRNA
Can an anesthesiologist answer this question please? Besides the obvious difference that one is a physician and one is an advanced practicing nurse, what is the best explanation to this question which I have been asked numerous times and the only explanation I have to give is one of experience i.e residency prepares you for more situations. Aside from this, what are things that anesthesiologists do that CRNAs don’t? Are there certain cases or responsibilities that are only handled by... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Post-Residency Salary Hourly vs Annual
I’m confused. I see several threads saying 150/hour is a very low salary for a physician but if you are working 50 hours a week that is about 335k annually right with holidays, which is about average for a doctor/attending right? Am I doing the math wrong? For example, for emergency medicine physicians, I see that they can potentially work 60 hours/week and that would 400k at 150/hour. What is the typical hourly pay by specialty? I hear ER nurses are making 150/hour now commonly. Isn’t over... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Is Anyone Doing Total Contact Casts?
I feel like a lot of the time a total contact cast is the only thing that will work in the patient that does not want to face the fact that if they continue to walk their wound will note heal. I recently closed a wound that had been opened about a year (on a former nurse) in about 6 weeks with a TCC. After it was closed I recommended referral to the nearest residency program for a charcot reconstruction (sub cuboid ulcer) or live in a CROW walker. She fought with me stating she never had a...
