Anti-fungal effects of novel N-(tert-butyl)-2-(pyridin-2-yl)imidazo[1,2-a]pyridin-3-amine derivative and it's in-vitro, in-silico, and mode of action against Candida spp
In this study, two newly synthesized imidazo[1,2-a]pyridine derivative (Probe I and Probe II) molecules were investigated for its antimicrobial potency against of a panel of bacterial (Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria) and fungal pathogens. Among the different types of pathogens, we found that Probe II showed excellent antifungal activity against fungal pathogens, based on the preliminary screening the potent molecule further investigated against multidrug-resistance Candida sp. (n = 10) and compared with commercial molecules. In addition, in-silico molecular docking, its dynamics, absorption, distribution, metabol...

Anodic oxidation of esomeprazole in water by carbon coated titanium (C/Ti) electrode: Optimization and degradation analysis
Anodic oxidation of Esomeprazole in water. AbstractEsomeprazole (ESO) is one of the proton pump inhibitors (PPIs) that is commonly used to treat extreme acidity and gastrointestinal irritation. Since it is used at a high rate, it is now classified as a pollutant of emerging concern (CEC). ESO gravely jeopardizes the health of living beings because it persists in water and wastewater sources even after standard treatment. Studies on the effective removal of PPIs, especially ESO, are scarce. In the current study, esomeprazole is disintegrated in water using electrochemical oxidation (EO). Titanium cathode with sodium sulfate...

Sodium citrate buffer improves pazopanib solubility and absorption in gastric acid-suppressed rat model
Drug Metab Pharmacokinet. 2024 Jan 3;55:100995. doi: 10.1016/j.dmpk.2024.100995. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTPazopanib exhibits pH-dependent solubility and its absorption depends primarily on the stomach pH. Significant decrease of pazopanib absorption by coadministration with proton pump inhibitors in clinical situation need to be overcome. Thus, the purpose of this study is firstly to investigate the effect of acidic beverages and sodium citrate buffer on the solubility of pazopanib and secondly to examine the effect of sodium citrate buffer on pazopanib absorption in a rat model with esomeprazole-mediated gastric acid...
