Adaptive laboratory evolution of Naematelia aurantialba under high temperature for efficient production of exopolysaccharide
This study implemented adaptive laboratory evolution (ALE) to enhance the thermotolerance of Naematelia aurantialba strains and increase expolysaccharide production. After 75 ALE cycles at 30 °C, the adaptive strain surpassed the wild-type strain by 5 °C. In a 7.5 L fermentor at 30 °C, the ALE strain yielded 17 % more exopolysaccharide than the wild type strain at 25 °C. Although the exopolysaccharide synthesized by both strains shares a consistent monosaccharide composition, infrared spectrum, and glycosidic bond composition, the ALE strain's exopolysaccharide has a larger molecular weight. Furthermore, the ALE strain...

Interlinked bi ‐stable switches govern the cell fate commitment of embryonic stem cells
Nanog and Oct4 are the key regulatory genes that govern the developmental dynamics of embryonic stem cells to trophectoderm and primitive endoderm by maintaining specific steady-state expression patterns. Herein, we hypothesize stepwise switching and mushroom-like bifurcation dynamics for Oct4 and Nanog, respectively, that align well with the existing experimental findings and shed light on fate-determination events. The development of embryonic stem (ES) cells to extraembryonic trophectoderm and primitive endoderm lineages manifests distinct steady-state expression patterns of two key transcription factors —Oct4 and Nan...

Biodistribution of radiolabeled alpha-amanitin in mice: An Investigation
This study provides insights into the potential long-term effects of α-AMA accumulation in specific organs. Additionally, this study has generated essential data that can be used to demonstrate the impact of antidotes on the biological distribution of α-AMA in future toxicity models.PMID:38408526 | DOI:10.1016/j.toxicon.2024.107661 (Source: Toxicon)

Highly sensitive and label free on-site monitoring immunosensor for detection of Aflatoxin B < sub > 1 < /sub > from real samples
Anal Biochem. 2024 Feb 23:115493. doi: 10.1016/j.ab.2024.115493. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTAflatoxin B1 (AF-B1) are toxins secreted by secondary metabolites of molds that have adverse effects on humans and animals resulting in huge economic losses. Here we report on field useable, cost effective and direct electrochemical sensor based on conducting polymer composite electrode, Poly (3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene): polystyrene sulphonic acid (PEDOT-PSS) for label-free detection of AF-B1. Structural and morphological characterization of composite electrodes were carried out using XRD and SEM. We compared two different elect...
