Wesley college
I would not recommend attending this program/school. My friend is a current student at this school and they were raped by a student at Wesley and Wesley did nothing to protect her from this student. They turned a blind eye and let the rapist still attend school!!!! They said that it looks bad on the college and swept everything under the rug. The victim now has to get a lawyer since the school is negligent. Beware.. (Source: Student Doctor Network)

33, bipolar 1 with psychotic features, lawyer interested in going back to school to research mania
I’m wondering what the move is if I would like to be in a position to work directly on experiments to prevent my manic episodes without the aid of drugs like lithium. I wish there was just a facility I could make a living showing up to everyday and having tests done on myself, but seeing as that doesn’t exist, I’d like to figure out the best way to get in the game. Is it Med school? Doing a PhD and becoming some biomedical researcher? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

33 yr old, bipolar, lawyer, interested in PA and MD
Hey guys — I don’t have any prerequisites and my healthcare experience has just been from the jails/hospitals I’ve suffered during manic episodes. I guess that, combined with the fact my law career was sabotaged my health is why I’m interested in healthcare. I think it would be cool to be in a position to experiment on myself to end manic episodes with minimal side effects instead of just staying on lithium and hating my life. During my episodes I got both hands tattooed and the sides... 33 yr old, bipolar, lawyer, interested in PA and MD (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Where to start – a newbie to med school admissions
I’m a practicing lawyer wanting to make the switch to medicine. I’ve worked full-time for over a year and can’t suppress the nagging feeling that I made a mistake. While my job is not horrible, the bulk of my day-to-day work is also unfulfilling. Whether I gain admission to medical school or not, I won’t be able to move past this unless I try. My Situation Personal: White, male. (Not sure why adcoms would care but also gay) State of Residency: North Carolina uGPA: 3.3... Abandoned Practices for Chronic Pain???
A lawyer asked me a couple thought-provoking questions: Lawyer: "Doctor, is there a professional consensus on the use of opioids for chronic pain?" Me: "No." Lawyer: "Doctor, has the field of pain management abandoned using opioids for treating chronic pain?" Me: "No." So, it got me thinking. What have we abandoned? How will we ever know that there is a consensus about the appropriate use of a modality based upon evidence? Everything (chiro, acupuncture, opioids, PT, psych, etc)... Lawsuit affecting med school admission?
Hi everyone, I'm going to try and keep this as vague as possible. I am involved in a lawsuit with my university and the lawyers want to do a media blast. They want the individuals involved to come forward, so the public can see who they are and increase our chances of winning the case. When I say this is a major case, I'm not exaggerating. Without giving circumstances away, the university is at fault and has the potential to turn into a high profile case. The lawyers have asked me to come... Lawsuit affecting med school admission? Everyone (PA, RN, NP, PT, PharmD) wants a piece of our pie
I do not understand why MD's are not more protective of their turf like other professionals ( dentists, lawyers, etc) . You don't hear of dental hygienists carrying out root canals or paralegals practicing law. I am not even sure in the near future that I will have a job, given all this encroachment. Sad! "We can now have a situation where a patient is seen solo by a nurse practitioner in the clinic, who then refers the patient to a nurse who performs surgery solo, assisted by operating... Caribbean school what are the risks
So here's my situation. I am a non-trad student (former lawyer who graduated cum laud, passed the bar in the top 4%), 4.0 science GPA, but 3.25-3.29 overall GPA and crappy 504 MCAT. So I applied to multiple DO schools and as of today, I still haven't gotten a single interview. As I see it, I have two options. Retake the MCAT and shoot for a 507-508+ to even have a shot or go Caribbean. With a 504 MCAT, 4.0 Science, and successful completion of Law school and bar, I feel capable of... contract review services
Anyone have any experience using a contract review service? They offer market compensation analysis as well as legal contract review with a lawyer. Cost is $500-700. The two that I have seen are Physician Advisors (physicianadvisorsllc.com) and Contract Diagnostics (www.contractdiagnostics.com/review/) (Source: Student Doctor Network)
