Lawsuit against Pharmacy school
2 years ago, I came on here lost; confused, disssapointed and broke asking for help on how to handle a dismissal just before my 10 month APPEs. God knows I was in a bad place. Some members were quite supportive and offered good suggestions. One wonderful member found out an attorney from Kansas who helped start the ball rolling. He could not file suit in Tennessee (only practised in Missouri and Kansas) but he led me to another lawyer who had handled a similar case. Before I continue, I want... Are Pharmacy Residents Getting A Raise?
I have been reading through this new overtime pay law from the president. Under the new law, the salary threshold to get overtime pay doubles from $23,660 to $47,476. There is this statement in the final ruling that seems like it would exclude medical residents, but I didn't find anything in there that applies to pharmacy residents. "Workers not subject to the EAP salary level test include teachers, academic administrative personnel, physicians, lawyers, judges, and outside sales workers"... Expert witness
I have a psychiatrist friend who has asked me to testify as an expertwitness for him. I met with his lawyer today to get the details and although I was initially sure that I would absolutely help, after reading the facts of the case, I feel reluctant. The complaints against him from two prior cases was about his overprescribing of psych. meds. He was forced to take courses and had to agree on a three year probation among other criteria to continue his practice. This latest complaint railed... Expert witness (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Joan Rivers' Malpractice Settlement 8 figures
TV is reporting that Joan Rivers' daughter got $10-$15 million from all the parties involved. The lawyers got 1/3 of course but this was a huge settlement. How did the parties come up with say $10 million? Let's assume all the Physicians involved settled for $1 million each. 1. Anesthesiologist- $1 million 2. ENT- $1 million 3. Gi- $1 million 4. GI center- $5 million? I can see maybe $8 million here but where does the other $2 million come from? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Non-trad Students for 2023
So, I've been browsing this forum for a bit. I've looked around trying to find things that specifically fit my thing here (including the group of lawyers trying to go in 2022), but there's so much from years ago- and recent stuff that I feel too different from- that I decided to just start a new one. I'm a non-trad army officer (getting out 2017) with 3 kids under the age of 5 planning on trying to take the MCAT in Fall 2017/Spring 2018 for applying in Fall 2018 for entry in Fall 2019.... Arrest in p3 year
Hey i just needed some advice. Last week, I made this really stupid decision to shoplift and got caught. It is something that I completely regret and I have learned my lesson. I contacted a lawyer and so far I will be enrolled in a diversion program that consists of community service and taking a class. Once this is completed, according to the lawyer, this will be off of my record. Yet, I will still have an arrest on my record. I will not be able to get this expunged for a year or two. I was... Civil Infraction Marijuana Related, Licensing issues?
Hey SDN, Do you guys know if a civil infraction (non-traffic) open/consume marijuana in public will hurt my chances of getting my pharmacy license/intern license? I'm a first year pharmacy student in Washington State. Was never arrested, and it won't show up on my criminal record nor my driving record since it was non-traffic related. Am already knocking myself in the head for my stupidity, and will seek a lawyer. If you guys have any personal experience or tips, would be greatly appreciated. (Source: Student Doctor Network)
