Spondylodiscitis after sacral colpopexy: diagnose early to treat earlier
Int J Clin Exp Pathol. 2024 Mar 15;17(3):90-95. doi: 10.62347/RERC7901. eCollection 2024.ABSTRACTSpondylodiscitis following sacral colpopexy for Pelvic Organ Prolapse (POP) represents a rare complication with severe consequences. Authors performed a literature search, from 2000 to 2022, to set a narrative review of literature. Spondylodiscitis is an uncommon but dangerous side effect of a routine surgical treatment that needs to be identified and treated right away to prevent worsening clinical consequences. Suboptimal dissection of the sacral promontory and/or site infection are associated with spondylodiscitis. When spon...

The correlation of trust as part of the therapeutic alliance in physical therapy and their relation to outcomes for patients with chronic low back pain
CONCLUSION: There appears to be a connection between trust and therapeutic alliance along with improved patient outcomes related to higher trust and therapeutic alliance scores in a cohort with chronic low back pain.PMID:38578206 | DOI:10.1080/09593985.2024.2338428 (Source: Physiotherapy Theory and Practice)

Comparison of psoas major activation during standing hip flexion between chronic low back pain and healthy populations
CONCLUSION: Our findings suggest a potential overactivation of the PM in the cLBP population. This insight may aid in the development of tailored rehabilitation programs.PMID:38578881 | DOI:10.3233/BMR-230384 (Source: Journal of Back and Musculoskeletal Rehabilitation)

Impact of bilateral facet joint violation on radiographic degeneration of superior adjacent segments and clinical outcomes
CONCLUSIONS: FJV was associated with postoperative low-back pain and worse functional outcomes. It also aggravated facet joint and intervertebral disc changes in the superior adjacent segment, especially when bilateral violation occurred; this may be part of the mechanisms of adjacent-segment degeneration.PMID:38579351 | DOI:10.3171/2024.1.SPINE23841 (Source: Journal of Neurosurgery.Spine)
