Graph modeling of relational structures among functioning variables with low back pain: an exploratory analysis based on international classification of functioning, disability and health
CONCLUSIONS: d430 and b126 significantly impact the physical and mental well-being of LBP patients. To improve d430, maintaining exercise habits, reducing working hours, enhancing lumbar stability, and overcoming fear-related emotions are recommended. Similarly, improving b126 can be achieved through enhancing interpersonal relationships.CLINICAL REHABILITATION IMPACT: Through the identification of crucial functioning variables and the associated dysfunctional correlation relationships, graphical model of Comprehensive ICF Core Set for LBP can offer healthcare decision-makers valuable insights into potential treatment targ...

Demographic and clinical characteristics associated with failure of physical therapy in chronic low back pain: a secondary analysis from a randomized controlled trial
CONCLUSIONS: Compared with younger ones, older patients with cLBP had a higher risk of treatment failure after physical therapy and gained a stronger benefit of long-term pain alleviation from therapeutic aquatic exercise.CLINICAL REHABILITATION IMPACT: Therapeutic aquatic exercise is an effective therapy for cLBP and more helpful for preventing treatment failure than physical therapy modalities, especially for older patients.PMID:38551516 | DOI:10.23736/S1973-9087.24.08033-X (Source: European Journal of Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine)

Efficacy of specific exercises in general population with non-specific low back pain: A systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials
Localized exercises are employed to activate, train, or restore the function of particular muscles and they are usually considered as part of treating individuals suffering low back pain. So, this systematic review and meta-analysis aimed to assess the efficacy of specific exercises in general population with non-specific low back pain (LBP). Core stabilization exercises versus yoga on feedforward activation of core muscles in chronic mechanical low back pain: An experimental study
Low back pain (LBP) is one of the significant general health issues faced by the present society. It has led to the deterioration of functional status and increase in financial burden(Demirel et al., 2019). It is characterized as the pain between 12th ribs and inferior gluteal fold either with or without pain referring to lower extremities(Kapetanovic et al., 2016). Back pain persisting for more than three months is referred as chronic LBP (CLBP) as per the National Institutes of Health (NIH) task force. (Source: Journal of Bodywork and Movement Therapies)

Paraspinal Muscle Changes in Individuals with and without Chronic Low Back Pain over a 4-Month Period: A Longitudinal MRI Study
Conclusions: This study provides insights into LM, ES, and psoas morphology in both healthy controls and affected individuals over a 4-month period without any intervention. Our findings suggest that psoas CSA at higher lumbar levels and CSA % asymmetry in general may be a better indicator of pathology and the development of pathology over time. Evaluating natural variations in paraspinal musculature over longer time frames may provide information on subtle changes in healthy controls and affected individuals and their potential role in chronic LBP.PMID:38541216 | DOI:10.3390/medicina60030490 (Source: Medicina (Kaunas))
