Zoledronic Acid Contraindications Prevalence among Hip-Fractured Patients Aged 75 Years or Over Hospitalized in an Orthogeriatric Unit
Conclusion: The majority of subjects aged 75 years or older admitted to hospital after an HF seem to have no contraindication for ZA administration during their immediate postoperative hospital stay. The hospitalization period after HF repair gives the opportunity to give most of them this treatment to improve their prognosis, taking into account situations in which ZA must be used with caution.Gerontology (Source: Gerontology)

Feasibility of Diagnosing Initial Orthostatic Hypotension Using a Continuous Blood Pressure Device in Geriatric Rehabilitation Inpatients: RESORT
Conclusion: The number of unsuccessful continuous blood pressure measurements was high in a population with high IOH prevalence despite multiple interventions to establish a signal. Future research should focus on improving the efficiency of continuous blood pressure devices in hospitalized patients with unsuccessful signals.Gerontology (Source: Gerontology)

Polypharmacy and Hyperpolypharmacy in Older Individuals with Parkinson ’s Disease: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis
Conclusion: Polypharmacy (40%) and hyperpolypharmacy (18%) are highly prevalent and eventually increase the risk of drug-related problems in older adults with PD. Therefore, interventions that ensure rational geriatric pharmacotherapy are of critical importance for the older population with neurogenerative disorders.Gerontology (Source: Gerontology)

Standing, Transition, and Walking Ability in Older Adults: The Case for Independently Evaluating Different Domains of Mobility Function
Conclusions: This study highlights the need to independently evaluate different mobility domains within an individual as a standard assessment approach. Modest within-domain relationships emphasize the need to account for multiple, unique control challenges within more complex domains. These findings have important implications for standardized mobility assessment and targeted rehabilitation strategies for older adults.Gerontology (Source: Gerontology)

A Prediction Model for Falls in Community-Dwelling Older Adults in Podiatry Practices
Conclusion: A CPM based on fall history in the previous year, feeling unsteady while standing and walking, decreased plantarflexor strength of the lesser toes, and reduced gait speed has acceptable accuracy to predict falls in our sample of podiatry community-dwelling older adults and is easily applicable in this setting. The accuracy of the model in clinical practice should be demonstrated through external validation of the model in a next study.Gerontology (Source: Gerontology)
