< em > Brca2 < sup > (p.T1942fs/+) < /sup > < /em > dissipates ovarian reserve in rats through oxidative stress in follicular granulosa cells
In conclusion, Brca2(p.T1942fs/+) dissipates primordial follicles via early activation of granulosa cells through oxidative stress, leading to earlier termination of fertility.PMID:38394084 | DOI:10.1080/10715762.2024.2320405 (Source: Free Radical Research)

Ascorbic acid induces ferroptosis via STAT3/GPX4 signaling in oropharyngeal cancer
In this study, we demonstrated that AA decreased cell viability and Ki67 expression, along with its accumulation in the G0/G1 phase in FaDu and SCC-154 cell lines. Furthermore, AA exposure induced morphological changes in mitochondria associated with ferroptosis. AA-induced ferroptosis is accompanied by depletion of glutathione (GSH) and increased levels of ferrous ions (Fe2+), reactive oxygen species (ROS), and malondialdehyde (MDA). However, these ferroptotic effects were ameliorated by deferoxamine and N-acetylcysteine. Network pharmacology results showed that signal transducer and activator of transcription 3 (STAT3) i...

The role of oxidative stress and inflammation biomarkers in pre- and postoperative monitoring of prostate cancer patients
CONCLUSION: Consequently, it is suggested that the assessment of oxidative stress and inflammatory biomarkers should be incorporated in the pre- and postoperative monitoring of patients with PC.PMID:38373238 | DOI:10.1080/10715762.2024.2320381 (Source: Free Radical Research)

Enhancing effect of the coexisting alpha-tocopherol on quercetin absorption and metabolism
Free Radic Res. 2024 Feb 8:1-16. doi: 10.1080/10715762.2024.2317206. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTThe aim of this study is to investigate the modulating effect of coexisting food components on the absorption and metabolism of quercetin and blood plasma antioxidant potentials. The combination of quercetin with α-tocopherol (αT), cellulose, or a commercially-available vegetable beverage containing αT and dietary fiber was orally administered to mice. Compared to the single administration of quercetin aglycone, the co-administration of αT with quercetin significantly increased the plasma quercetin concentration at 0.5 h,...
