Family planning behaviours among women with diabetes mellitus: a scoping review
ConclusionsMost of the evidence to date on family planning behaviours among women with diabetes mellitus focuses on the role of individual level sociodemographic factors. Few studies focused on exploring determinants at multiple levels. In this review we found that there is limited evidence on disease control and pregnancy intention in relation to their family planning practices. Future studies with more clinical and contextual factors are needed to guide the strengthening of family planning services for high-risk group women specifically for women with diabetes mellitus. Identification of potential biomarkers and therapeutic targets related to post-traumatic stress disorder due to traumatic brain injury
ConclusionsBy exploring the role of different types of traumas during the pathogenesis of PTSD, its possible molecular mechanisms have been revealed, providing vital information for understanding the complex pathways associated with TBI-related PTSD. The data in this study has important implications for the design and development of new diagnostic and therapeutic methods needed to treat and manage PTSD. Gentiopicroside inhibits the progression of gastric cancer through modulating EGFR/PI3K/AKT signaling pathway
ConclusionsOur investigation demonstrated for the first time that GPS could inhibit GC malignant progression by targeting the EGFR/PI3K/AKT signaling pathway. This study indicated that GPS may be serve as a safe anti-tumor drug for further treatment of GC. (Source: European Journal of Medical Research)

Effect of Buteyko breathing technique on clinical and functional parameters in adult patients with asthma: a randomized, controlled study
ConclusionsBBT was clinically effective, as indicated by the fact that the improvement in symptom scores and the small increase in bronchial volume occurred despite the significant reduction of respiratory pharmacotherapy. As the self-controlled Buteyko breathing therapy was well-accepted by the participants, it could be considered as supporting tool in asthma therapy being worth of wider attention in clinical practice.Trial registration Retrospectively registered on 10 March 2017 at ClinicalTrials.gov (NCT03098849). Investigation of the effect of Jacobson ’s relaxation technique on the fatigue of family caregivers of hemodialysis patients: a single-blinded randomized controlled trial
ConclusionJacobson ’s relaxation technique was effective in alleviating the fatigue of family caregivers of hemodialysis patients. Nurses are therefore recommended to promote the technique as a safe and easy method of fatigue management for family caregivers. (Source: European Journal of Medical Research)

Title-molecular diagnostics of dystrophinopathies in Sri Lanka towards phenotype predictions: an insight from a South Asian resource limited setting
ConclusionDMD gene deletions and duplications are concentrated in exons 45 –55 and 2–20 respectively, which match global variation hotspots. Disparities in deletion and duplication frequencies were observed when comparing our data to other Asian and Western populations. Identified a 95% deletion detection rate for mPCR, making it a viable initial molecular diagnostic a pproach for low-resource countries where MLPA could be used to evaluate negative mPCR cases and cases with ambiguous mutation borders. Our findings may have important implications in the early identification of DMD with limited resources in Sri Lanka and...

Decidual stromal cells-derived exosomes incurred insufficient migration and invasion of trophoblast by disturbing of β-TrCP-mediated snail ubiquitination and degradation in unexplained recurrent spontaneous abortion
ConclusionsOur findings indicate that URSA-DSC-exos caused insufficient migration and invasion of trophoblast because of disturbing of β-TrCP-mediated ubiquitination and degradation of EMT transcription factor snail. Elucidating the underlying mechanism of this dysregulation may shed light on the novel pathways through which DSC-exos influence trophoblast function, thereby contributing to our understanding of their role in URSA. Modulation of fracture healing by senescence-associated secretory phenotype (SASP): a narrative review of the current literature
AbstractThe senescence-associated secretory phenotype (SASP) is a generic term for the secretion of cytokines, such as pro-inflammatory factors and proteases. It is a crucial feature of senescent cells. SASP factors induce tissue remodeling and immune cell recruitment. Previous studies have focused on the beneficial role of SASP during embryonic development, wound healing, tissue healing in general, immunoregulation properties, and cancer. However, some recent studies have identified several negative effects of SASP on fracture healing. Senolytics is a drug that selectively eliminates senescent cells. Senolytics can inhibi...

Prognostic, diagnostic and clinicopathological roles of tsRNAs: a meta-analysis in breast cancer
In conclusion, BC-associated tsRNAs are closely related to the prognosis and clinicopathological features of patients with this disease and can be used to assist in early diagnosis of BC. Therefore, tsRNAs are potential targets for the diagnosis and treatment of BC. (Source: European Journal of Medical Research)

Association of body temperature and mortality in critically ill patients: an observational study using two large databases
ConclusionsA BT of 37  °C is associated with the lowest mortality risk among ICU patients. Further studies to explore the causal relationship between the optimal BT and mortality should be conducted and may help with establishing guidelines for active BT management in critical care settings. Utilizing neurodegenerative markers for the diagnostic evaluation of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis
ConclusionOur study demonstrates that neurodegenerative marker levels indicate an ongoing neurodegenerative process in ALS. Nonetheless, the progression of ALS cannot be predicted solely based on these markers. The discovery of a specific biomarker could potentially complement existing diagnostic criteria for ALS.
