Improvement of the treatment of patients with spastic movement disorder after stroke
CONCLUSION: The recommended treatment pathway for use in stroke patients is intended to close gaps in care and thus ensure guideline-conform treatment of post-stroke SMD.PMID:37987799 | DOI:10.1007/s00115-023-01571-8 (Source: Der Nervenarzt)

The situation in the German forensic commitment-Results of a survey by the DGPPN
CONCLUSION: This overview shows that the forensic psychiatric hospitals are in very different but generally strained situations. A significant number of clinics are under great pressure. Financial, structural, spatial and personnel resources were described as insufficient to properly and professionally fulfill the legal mandate. The treatment standards presented by the DGPPN in 2017 are not met in many clinics.PMID:37943326 | DOI:10.1007/s00115-023-01564-7 (Source: Der Nervenarzt)

Diagnostics and treatment of hourglass-like nerve constrictions and torsions in neuralgic amyotrophy
Nervenarzt. 2023 Nov 9. doi: 10.1007/s00115-023-01562-9. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTNeuralgic amyotrophy is a disease of the peripheral nervous system characterized by severe neuropathic pain followed by peripheral paralysis. A distinction is made between a hereditary and an idiopathic form, which is assumed to have an autoimmunological origin. Conservative medicinal treatment mainly consists of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAID), opioids and glucocorticoids; however, despite treatment, symptoms in the form of pain or paralysis persist in over 50% of cases. Inflammation can lead to strictures and torsions of p...
