PKP1 and MYC create a feedforward loop linking transcription and translation in squamous cell lung cancer
ConclusionsBased on these results, we propose a feedforward functional relationship in which PKP1 enhances MYC translation in conjunction with the translation initiation complex by binding to the 5 ’-UTR ofMYC mRNA, whereas MYC promotesPKP1 transcription by binding to its promoter. These results suggest that PKP1 may serve as a therapeutic target for SqCLC. (Source: Cellular Oncology)

ACSM3 suppresses the pathogenesis of high-grade serous ovarian carcinoma via promoting AMPK activity
ConclusionOur data indicate that the ACSM3-AMPK axis is involved in the pathogenesis of HGSOC and, as such, may act as a therapeutic target for this cancer. (Source: Cellular Oncology)

Hippocalcin-like 1 is a key regulator of LDHA activation that promotes the growth of non-small cell lung carcinoma
ConclusionsOur data indicate that the effect of HPCAL1 knockdown on reducing SRC-mediated LDHA activity attenuates NSCLC growth. Our findings reveal novel biological functions and a mechanism  underlying the role of HPCAL1 in NSCLC growthin vitro andin vivo. (Source: Cellular Oncology)

Discoidin domain receptor 1 promotes hepatocellular carcinoma progression through modulation of SLC1A5 and the mTORC1 signaling pathway
ConclusionsOur study reveals a new mechanism by which DDR1 plays a liver cancer-promoting role. We also found that DDR1 expression serves as an independent prognostic marker, and that DDR1 and SLC1A5 expression levels are positively correlated in clinical samples. Our findings provide a new perspective for understanding HCC development and offers new targets for the treatment and management of HCC. (Source: Cellular Oncology)
