Biomarkers associated with cardiovascular disease in women with spontaneous preterm birth: A case –control study
ConclusionsCompared with women without preterm birth, those with spontaneous preterm birth had slightly higher concentrations of fibrinogen, both at mid-pregnancy and a decade after pregnancy. Additionally, we found slightly higher concentration of triglycerides at follow up in women with previous spontaneous preterm birth. The relevance of this finding is uncertain but might indicate potential pathophysiological mechanisms in common between spontaneous preterm birth and cardiovascular disease. Childbirth experiences in women with polycystic ovary syndrome: A cohort study
ConclusionsWomen with PCOS experience childbirth similarly to the reference women. Metformin did not influence childbirth experience in women with PCOS, neither did pregnancy complications. Obesity, long duration of labor or cesarean section had a negative impact on childbirth experience. (Source: Acta Obstetricia et Gynecologica Scandinavica)

The outcomes of team ‐based learning versus small group interactive learning in the obstetrics and gynecology course for undergraduate students
ConclusionsWe found no differences in student learning outcomes or satisfaction using TBL or SIL methods. However, as TBL had a double the student to teacher ratio as compared with SIL, in settings where teachers are scarce and suitable rooms are available for TBL sessions, the method may be beneficial in reducing faculty workload without compromising students' learning outcomes. Impact of patient ‐reported salpingitis on the outcome of hysterectomy and adnexal surgery: A national register‐based cohort study in Sweden
ConclusionsSelf-reported salpingitis appears to be a risk factor for complications and dissatisfaction after gynecologic surgery. This implies that known previous salpingitis should be included in the risk assessment before gynecologic procedures. (Source: Acta Obstetricia et Gynecologica Scandinavica)

ST waveform analysis vs cardiotocography alone for intrapartum fetal monitoring: An updated systematic review and meta ‐analysis of randomized trials
ConclusionsAbsolute effects of STAN were minor and the clinical significance of the observed reduction in metabolic acidosis is questioned. There is insufficient evidence to state that STAN as an adjunct to CTG leads to important clinical benefits compared with CTG alone. (Source: Acta Obstetricia et Gynecologica Scandinavica)

Identification of depression and anxiety during pregnancy: A  systematic review and meta‐analysis of test accuracy
ConclusionsFindings from the meta-analysis suggest that the EPDS alone is not perfectly suitable for detection of major depressive disorder during pregnancy. Few studies have evaluated the other instruments, therefore, their usefulness for identification of women with depression and anxiety during pregnancy remains very uncertain. At present, case-identification with any tool may best serve as a complement to a broader dialogue between healthcare professionals and their patients. Subsequent pregnancy outcomes after second trimester miscarriage or termination for medical/fetal reason: A systematic review and meta ‐analysis of observational studies
ConclusionsVery low certainty evidence suggests there may be an increased risk of preterm birth in a subsequent pregnancy after a late miscarriage. However, evidence is limited. Larger, higher quality cohort studies are needed to investigate this potential association. (Source: Acta Obstetricia et Gynecologica Scandinavica)
