Practice variation in timing of antenatal corticosteroid administration in early ‐onset fetal growth restriction: A secondary analysis of the Dutch STRIDER study
ConclusionsNo significant differences in neonatal outcomes were observed when comparing early and late strategy of antenatal corticosteroid administration on neonatal outcomes in pregnancies complicated by early-onset fetal growth restriction. We found no apparent risk contribution of interval between corticosteroid administration and delivery in multivariate analysis. Gestational age at delivery was found to be an important predictor of neonatal outcome. (Source: Acta Obstetricia et Gynecologica Scandinavica)

Placental size at gestational week 36: Comparisons between ongoing pregnancies and deliveries
ConclusionsThe placenta is larger in ongoing pregnancies than among deliveries. This finding suggests that placental size decreases during labor and delivery, possibly by transfer of blood to the fetus. Our finding also suggests that reference values of placental size based on delivered placentas are not valid for ongoing pregnancies. (Source: Acta Obstetricia et Gynecologica Scandinavica)

Anxiety and depression among women with newly diagnosed vulvar cancer – A nationwide longitudinal study
ConclusionsWomen with newly diagnosed vulvar cancer report a high level of anxiety at diagnosis. Despite a significant improvement, anxiety remains widely prevalent during the first year of follow-up. Targeting insomnia, vulvar symptoms and unmet needs may decrease anxiety during surveillance. Treatments for hyperemesis gravidarum: A systematic review
ConclusionsSeveral scientific knowledge gaps were identified. Studies on treatments for hyperemesis gravidarum are few, and the certainty of evidence for different treatments is either low or very low. To establish more robust evidence, it is essential to use validated scoring systems, the recently established diagnostic criteria, clear descriptions and measurements of core outcomes and to perform larger studies. Risk of stillbirth and adverse pregnancy outcomes in a third pregnancy when an earlier pregnancy has ended in stillbirth
ConclusionsEven when they have had a live-born infant, women with a history of stillbirth have an increased risk of adverse pregnancy outcomes; this cannot be solely accounted for by the recurrence of congenital anomalies or maternal medical disorders. This suggests that women with a history of stillbirth should be offered additional surveillance for subsequent pregnancies. (Source: Acta Obstetricia et Gynecologica Scandinavica)

Is the fetus fit for labor? Introducing fast ‐and‐frugal trees (FFTrees) to simplify triage of women for STAN monitoring: An interobserver agreement comparison with traditional classification
ConclusionsThe proportion of agreement among expert obstetricians using the FFTree physiological approach was significantly higher compared with the traditional FIGO classification system in rejecting cases not suitable for STAN monitoring. That might be of importance to avoid false negative STAN recordings. Other agreement figures were similar. It remains to be shown whether the FFTree simplicity will benefit less experienced users and how it will work in real-world clinical scenarios. (Source: Acta Obstetricia et Gynecologica Scandinavica)

Importance of antenatal identification of small for gestational age fetuses on perinatal and childhood outcomes: A register ‐based cohort study
ConclusionsNon-identified SGA fetuses have an increased risk for stillbirth and severe newborn distress. Conversely, identified SGA fetuses have an increased risk for severe childhood outcome. (Source: Acta Obstetricia et Gynecologica Scandinavica)

Incidence of stillbirth among women with different risk profiles in Stockholm 2001 –2020: a repeated cross‐sectional study
ConclusionsThe incidence of stillbirth in the Stockholm Region has declined. However, among women originating from sub-Saharan Africa the incidence was significantly higher compared with women originating from other regions and it is still rising. More research is needed to understand why this group is at higher risk and how to monitor their pregnancies to decrease this risk. (Source: Acta Obstetricia et Gynecologica Scandinavica)
