Transabdominal and transvaginal ultrasound findings help to guide the clinical management of placenta accreta spectrum cases
ConclusionsCesarean hysterectomy is associated with the PAS signs of placental bulge and Grade 2 and 3 intracervical hypervascularity. OSCS is associated with intracervical hypervascularity Grade 1 on transvaginal ultrasound. Prospective validation is required to formulate predictors for PAS management. Risk of venous thromboembolism in pregnant patients with active malignancy: A systematic review and meta ‐analysis
ConclusionsPregnancy with active malignancy confers a significant increased risk for VTE compared with pregnancy alone. Given this finding, prophylactic anticoagulation during pregnancy and postpartum could be considered in this patient population. Data are underpowered to make firm recommendations per cancer type. Early antenatal risk factors for births before arrival: An unmatched case –control study
ConclusionsInformation gathered routinely at booking may discriminate individuals at risk for birth before arrival. Better recognition of early factors may enable maternity staff to direct higher-risk women towards specialized care services at an early point in their pregnancy, enabling time for clinical and social interventions. Cervix cytology samples revealed increased methylation of the human markers FAM19A4/miR124 ‐2 up to 8 years before adenocarcinoma
ConclusionsTesting for methylation ofFAM19A4/miR124-2 as a triage for HPV-positive women would be useful to identify women at risk of cancer development, especially adenocarcinoma. Further studies are needed to estimate the cost-effectiveness before introducing methylation testing in the screening program. (Source: Acta Obstetricia et Gynecologica Scandinavica)

The role of psychosocial factors in the interprofessional management of women with chronic pelvic pain: A systematic review
ConclusionsAlthough interprofessional treatment strategies for women with CPP are recommended in existing guidelines, available evidence is scarce and does not allow for identification of the best interprofessional treatment approach. The effect on psychosocial factors remains unclear. More research is needed determining the best practice interprofessional treatment option for women with CPP. The association between maternal vitamin D deficiency and postpartum hemorrhage and uterine atony
ConclusionsIn this study, the vitamin D status of women at the time of delivery was not a predictor of postpartum hemorrhage overall or atonic postpartum hemorrhage. (Source: Acta Obstetricia et Gynecologica Scandinavica)

Time trends in preeclampsia and gestational diabetes in Denmark and Alberta, Canada, 2005 –2018—A population‐based cohort study
ConclusionsThe prevalence of both preeclampsia and gestational diabetes increased significantly from 2005 to 2018, which portends future increases in chronic disease rates among affected women. Increasing demand for long-term follow up and care will amplify the existing pressure on healthcare systems. (Source: Acta Obstetricia et Gynecologica Scandinavica)

Prenatal diagnosis of isolated bilateral clubfoot: Is amniocentesis indicated?
ConclusionsDespite the low rate of pathogenic chromosomal abnormalities diagnosed prenatally after this ultrasound diagnosis, the risk of chromosomal aberration exceeds the risks of amniocentesis. These data may be helpful in prenatal counseling situations. (Source: Acta Obstetricia et Gynecologica Scandinavica)

Efficacy of intracytoplasmic sperm injection in women with non ‐male factor infertility: A systematic review and meta‐analysis
ConclusionsOur findings suggest that ICSI leads to no difference in reproductive outcomes compared to IVF in patients with non-male factor infertility. Considering the cost and safety of ICSI, we have no evidence to support the routine use of ICSI in these populations. High-quality RCTs with large sample sizes will be needed to confirm our results and explore clinical and neonatal outcomes. (Source: Acta Obstetricia et Gynecologica Scandinavica)
