Outcomes of SARS ‐CoV‐2 infection in early pregnancy—A systematic review and meta‐analysis
ConclusionsIn this comprehensive systematic review of available evidence, we identified no statistically significant adverse association between SARS-CoV-2 infection in early pregnancy (before 20  weeks of gestation) and fetal, neonatal, or maternal outcomes. However, a 44% increase in miscarriage rate is concerning and further studies of larger sample size are needed to confirm or refute our findings. Resuscitative endovascular balloon occlusion of the aorta (REBOA) as adjunct treatment in life threatening postpartum hemorrhage: Fourteen  years' experience from a single Norwegian center
ConclusionsOur 14  years of experience at St Olav's Hospital suggests that REBOA serves as a safe and effective adjunct interventional technique for managing life-threatening PPH. Furthermore, the findings indicate that incorporating a multidisciplinary approach to enable rapid aortic occlusion can potentially redu ce the necessity for blood transfusions and hysterectomies. Shoulder dystocia by severity in families: A nationwide population study
ConclusionsWe found a strong recurrence risk of shoulder dystocia, especially severe, in subsequent deliveries in the same woman. The inter-generational recurrence risk was higher on the maternal than paternal side. Women with a history of shoulder dystocia had more often planned cesarean section. Methods of induction of labor in women with obesity: A secondary analysis of two multicenter randomized controlled trials
ConclusionsIn women with obesity we found a nonsignificant trend towards an increased rate of cesarean sections in the group induced with a Foley catheter compared to oral misoprostol; however, the study lacked power for this subgroup analysis. The finding of a higher risk of failed placement of a Foley catheter in women with obesity can be used in shared decision making. (Source: Acta Obstetricia et Gynecologica Scandinavica)

Gynecological cancer during pregnancy —From a gyne‐oncological perspective
AbstractGynecological cancer diagnosed during pregnancy requires accurate diagnosis and staging to determine optimal treatment based on gestational age. Cervical and ovarian cancers are the most common and multidisciplinary team collaboration is pivotal. Magnetic resonance imaging and ultrasound can be used without causing fetal harm. In cervical cancer, early-stage treatments can often be delayed until fetal lung maturation and cesarean section is recommended if disease prevails, in combination with a simple/radical hysterectomy and lymphadenectomy. Chemoradiotherapy, the recommended treatment for advanced stages, is not ...

Birth asphyxia and its association with grand multiparity and referral among hospital births: A prospective cross ‐sectional study in Benin, Malawi, Tanzania and Uganda
ConclusionsThere is some evidence of an increased risk of birth asphyxia for grand multiparous women having babies at hospitals, especially following intrapartum referral. Antenatal counseling should recognize grand multiparity as higher risk and advise appropriate childbirth facilities. Findings in Malawi suggest an advantage of health systems configuration requiring further exploration. (Source: Acta Obstetricia et Gynecologica Scandinavica)

Development and validation of models for predicting preterm birth and gestational latency following emergency cervical cerclage: A multicenter cohort study
ConclusionsThese novel models provide reliable and valuable prognostic predictions for patients undergoing emergency cerclage. The models can assist clinicians and patients in making personalized clinical decisions before opting for the cervical cerclage. (Source: Acta Obstetricia et Gynecologica Scandinavica)
