A follow up on the feasibility after national implementation of magnesium sulfate for neuroprotection prior to preterm birth
ConclusionsThere was a positive trend over time in the proportion of women receiving MgSO4 treatment, but the a priori target of 90% was not reached during the first year of implementation. Our findings indicate that this target could be reached with additional information to clinicians. (Source: Acta Obstetricia et Gynecologica Scandinavica)

Amsterdam complex pelvic pain symptom scale with subscales: Based on a Norwegian translation, psychometric assessment and modification of the Amsterdam hyperactive pelvic floor scale
ConclusionsA modified Norwegian version ACPPS-30 was presented, in addition to a shorter version with only 16 of the translated items distributed among five factors similar to the original Dutch version (ACPPS-16). Both versions proved to be valid, stable and reliable tools to investigate complex pelvic pain symptoms possibly due to an abnormally high-toned pelvic floor muscle. Birth spacing and risk of adverse pregnancy and birth outcomes: A systematic review and dose –response meta‐analysis
ConclusionsExtreme birth spacing has extensive adverse effects on maternal and infant health. In the general population, interpregnancy interval of 18 –23 months may be associated with potential benefits for both mothers and infants. For women with previous preterm birth, the optimal birth spacing may be 9 months. (Source: Acta Obstetricia et Gynecologica Scandinavica)

Epidemiology of spontaneous pregnancy loss in Kazakhstan: A national population ‐based cohort analysis during 2014–2019 using the national electronic healthcare system
ConclusionThe information available in UNEHS adequately identifies types of miscarriages and treatment methods. Although the prevalence of SPL before 22  weeks of gestation is decreasing, management of miscarriages requires closer attention. (Source: Acta Obstetricia et Gynecologica Scandinavica)

Birthweight of the subsequent singleton pregnancy following a first twin or singleton pregnancy
ConclusionsBirthweights of the subsequent singleton baby were similar for women with a first twin or a first singleton pregnancy. Although first twin pregnancies contribute a greater combined total offspring birthweight including more extensive uterine expansion, this does not explain the general parity effect seen in birthweight. The physiological reasons for increased birthweight with parity remain to be established. (Source: Acta Obstetricia et Gynecologica Scandinavica)

Analysis of the anatomical and biomechanical characteristics of the pelvic floor in cystocele
ConclusionsIn general, the biomechanical status of the pelvic floor in patients with cystocele is complex and involves various muscles, ligaments, tendons, and fascia. Of these, repair and exercise of the LAM have not received much attention in the treatment of patients with cystoceles, which may be an important risk factor for the high recurrence rate. Long ‐term consequences of juvenile vulvar lichen sclerosus: A cohort study of adults with a histologically confirmed diagnosis in childhood or adolescence
ConclusionsSymptoms due to VLS are reported by most adults diagnosed as juveniles. QoL and sexuality are affected and correlate to recent symptoms. VLS as a juvenile does not preclude a vaginal delivery. Women diagnosed with VLS in childhood or adolescence are often lost to follow-up. (Source: Acta Obstetricia et Gynecologica Scandinavica)
