Digital Strategies Supporting Social Network Approaches to HIV Testing: A Scoping Review
AbstractPurpose of ReviewThis review captured how digital strategies support social network approaches to promote HIV testing.Recent FindingOverall, 29 studies were identified by searching PubMed and Embase for studies published up to June 2023. Existing studies revealed three types of digital strategies (social media (n = 28), online information channels (n = 4), and multifunctional digital platforms (n = 4)) split into four major modes of digital strategy-supported social-network-based HIV testing promotion: 1) Online outreach and recruiting, 2) gathering and identifying key populations for HIV testing, 3) co...

Methodology for adapting a co-created early childhood development intervention and implementation strategies for use by frontline workers in India and Guatemala: a systematic application of the FRAME-IS framework
Glob Health Action. 2024 Dec 31;17(1):2338324. doi: 10.1080/16549716.2024.2338324. Epub 2024 May 10.ABSTRACTThere is little evidence on optimizing the effectiveness and implementation of evidence-based early childhood development (ECD) interventions when task-shifted to frontline workers. In this Methods Forum paper, we describe our adaptation of the International Guide for Monitoring Child Development (GMCD) for task-shifting to frontline workers in Guatemala and India. In 2021-2022, implementers, trainers, frontline workers, caregivers, and international GMCD experts collaborated to adapt the GMCD for a task shifted impl...

Characteristics of the HIV/AIDS Epidemic among People Aged ≥ 50 Years in China during 2018-2021
CONCLUSION: In China, PLWHA, aged ≥ 50 years, were predominantly infected through heterosexual transmission. The primary modes of infection were CHC and NMNCHC. There were variations in the sex ratio among different age groups, infected through various sexual behaviors. HIV/AIDS cases exhibited spatial clustering. Based on these results, the expansion of HIV testing, treatment, and integrated behavioral interventions in high-risk populations is recommended to enhance disease detection in key regions.PMID:38727162 | DOI:10.3967/bes2024.044 (Source: Biomedical and Environmental Sciences : BES)

Empowering people living with HIV (PLHIV): unveiling care gaps and identifying opportunities for improving care for PLHIV in Singapore and Hong Kong
CONCLUSIONS: There is a need in Singapore and Hong Kong to empower people living with HIV to establish better communications with their physicians and be more involved in their treatment journey and equally prioritize their psychosocial wellbeing.PMID:38726655 | PMC:PMC11082721 | DOI:10.1002/jia2.26250 (Source: Journal of the International AIDS Society)

Shared decision-making for supporting women's decisions about breast cancer screening
CONCLUSIONS: Studies using abbreviated forms of SDM and other forms of enhanced communications indicated improvements in knowledge and reduced decisional conflict. However, uncertainty remains about the effect of SDM on supporting women's decisions. Most studies did not evaluate outcomes considered important for this review topic, and those that did measured different concepts. High-quality randomised trials are needed to evaluate SDM in diverse cultural settings with a focus on outcomes such as women's satisfaction with choices aligned to their values.PMID:38726892 | PMC:PMC11082933 | DOI:10.1002/14651858.CD013822.pub2 (S...

Anti-nuclear matrix protein 2 antibody-positive amyopathic dermatomyositis presenting in a patient with prostate cancer: A case report
Clin Case Rep. 2024 May 8;12(5):e8884. doi: 10.1002/ccr3.8884. eCollection 2024 May.ABSTRACTNuclear matrix protein (NXP-2) positive amyopathic dermatomyositis (DM) may present without classic symptoms like muscle weakness, dysphagia, and edema, and mimic conditions like cutaneous lupus. Given DM's association with malignancy and interstitial lung disease, prompt and accurate diagnosis is important. Testing for myositis-specific antibodies aids diagnosis in ambiguous cases.PMID:38725932 | PMC:PMC11079545 | DOI:10.1002/ccr3.8884 (Source: Clinical Prostate Cancer)
