Morphologic and Molecular Findings in Myxoid Hepatic Adenomas
Myxoid hepatic adenomas are a rare subtype of hepatic adenomas with distinctive deposition of extracellular myxoid material between the hepatic plates. A total of 9 cases were identified in 6 women and 3 men with an average of 59±12 years. The myxoid adenomas were single tumors in 5 cases and multiple in 4 cases. In 1 case with multiple adenomas, the myxoid adenoma arose in the background of GNAS-mutated hepatic adenomatosis. Myxoid hepatic adenomas had a high frequency of malignant transformation (N=5 cases). They were characterized at the molecular level by HNF1A inactivating mutations, leading to loss of LFABP protein ...

Clinical Importance of Incidentally Detected Hyperenhancing Liver Observations on Portal Venous Phase Computed Tomography in Patients Without Known Malignancy or Liver Disease
Conclusions Incidental hyperenhancing liver observations on portal venous phase CT with homogeneous or typical hemangioma morphology in patients without known cancer or liver disease are highly likely benign. (Source: Journal of Computer Assisted Tomography)

A Multicenter, 10-Year Experience With Hepatocellular Adenoma: Risk Factors and Disease Course
DISCUSSION: This decade-long review analyzing the impact of modifiable risk factors identifies a direct correlation between BMI and hepatocellular adenoma size. Rupture and malignant transformation are rare entities. Cessation of OC appears to be an effective strategy in the management of hepatic adenoma. Further investigations are warranted to determine if addressing modifiable risk factors such as BMI might induce further HA regression.PMID:33861649 | DOI:10.1177/00031348211011084 (Source: The American Surgeon)

68. Hemorrhagic shock due to ruptured hepatic adenoma secondary to oral norethindrone acetate in a patient with type 3 von Willebrand disease: a case report
Patients with von Willebrand's disease (vWD) often require menstrual suppression in order to avoid episodes of heavy bleeding. While multiple hormone-based options are appropriate for these patients, specific side effects and clinical considerations based on the type and severity of vWD need further study. We discuss refinement of treatment options for menorrhagia for an adolescent with type 3 vWD who presented with a complication likely related to chronic progestin exposure. 18 F-FDG PET/CT of hepatocellular adenoma subtypes and review of literature
ConclusionHNF1A-mutated HCA may have greater SUV values than inflammatory HCA on 18F-FDG PET/CT exams. However, there are contradictory data in the literature and further investigation is warranted. (Source: Abdominal Imaging)

Small Cystic Pancreatic Neuroendocrine Neoplasm with Huge Liver and Bone Metastases.
Authors: Yasuda M, Takeda S, Lee M, Hoshi S, Hoshi T, Tanaka Y, Miyajima S, Takaya H, Kajimura K Abstract Pancreatic neuroendocrine neoplasms occasionally have a cystic component. We herein report a case of multiple hepatic tumors, including a huge one and a 24-mm sized pancreatic cystic lesion. The hepatic tumor showed an enhancement pattern consistent with hepatic adenoma. The pancreatic cystic lesion revealed a thickened outside border and a solid inside component, which was enhanced following a contrast study, suggesting cystic pancreatic neuroendocrine neoplasm. Surgical resection was performed. After...

663 Hepatic Adenoma Masquerading as a Hepatocellular Carcinoma in a Patient With a Fontan Procedure on the Oral Contraceptive Pill
The oral contraceptive pill (OCP) has traditionally been contraindicated in the Fontan circulation due to its thromboembolic profile [1]; though our centre uses it with caution with concomitant anticoagulation. Our case suggests that the OCP may be a potential confounder in Fontan patients with liver lesions and this possibility should be discussed with patients. (Source: Heart, Lung and Circulation)
