Gastrocolic fistula as a complication of a gastric ulcer related to Helicobacter pylori in a child
We present the case of a 10-year-old boy with a history of chronic abdominal pain, diarrhea, halitosis, and growth delay diagnosed with H. pylori-associated gastritis and gastrocolic fistula. The boy recovered with resection surgery and antibiotic therapy for eradication of the pathogen. This is the first description of a gastrocolic fistula in pediatrics related to H. pylori.PMID:37993314 | DOI:10.1016/j.arcped.2023.07.008 (Source: Archives de Pediatrie)

Investigating associations between HLA DQA1  ~ DQB1 haplotypes, H. pylori infection, metaplasia, and anti-CagA IgA seropositivity in a Turkish gastritis cohort
In conclusion, HLA DQA1  ~ DQB1 polymorphisms are crucial as host defense mechanisms against CagAH. pylori since antigen binding capacity plays a crucial role in anti-CagA IgA production. (Source: Immunogenetics)

Licorice flavonoid alleviates gastric ulcers by producing changes in gut microbiota and promoting mucus cell regeneration
In this study, we manifested that LF increased the viability of human gastric mucosal epithelial (GES-1) cells, attenuated ethanol (EtOH)-induced manifestations, reduced histological injury, suppressed inflammation, and restored gastric mucosal barrier in GU rats. After LF therapy, the EtOH-induced gut dysbiosis was partly modulated, and short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs) like butyric acid, propionic acid, and valeric acid were found in higher concentrations. We discovered that the majority of genera that increased in the GU group had a negative correlation with SCFAs in the intestinal tract. In addition, LF-upregulated SCFAs...

Extrahepatic 90Y Complication; Gastric Ulcer Secondary to 90Y Therapy for Liver Metastasis Despite Negative Preprocedural Imaging
We present the case of a 66-year-old male who developed a radiation-induced gastric ulcer following90Y therapy with negative pre-procedural imaging and mapping who was retrospectively found to have an accessory artery from the left hepatic artery to the gastric antrum. Change in Prevalence and Pattern of Peptic Ulcer Disease in the Northern Savannah of Nigeria: An Endoscopic Study
Conclusion: The prevalence and pattern of PUD in Northern Savannah of Nigeria have changed – patients were predominantly male and older, and GU predominated.

Plant-based green synthesis of nanoparticles as an effective and safe treatment for gastric ulcer
AbstractGastric ulcer is a chronic  disease that affects about 10% of the world’s population. This disease is caused by factors such as stress, smoking, alcohol consumption, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs),Helicobacter pylori infection, and genetic factors. Herbal medicines such as plant extracts are new sources of drugs with promising results in treating gastric ulcers. Nanotechnology and nanomedicine have been able to reach this objective to some extent. Green synthesis is an alternative method adapted for chemical and physical methods. In the last few years, fungi, bacteria, viruses, algae, and plants h...
