Elastoma of the Orbit: A Case Report
A 78-year-old man presenting for revision ptosis surgery was found to have an asymptomatic left inferomedial orbital mass visible below the left lower eyelid on external inspection, and subconjunctivally on examination. This was subsequently diagnosed as an isolated elastoma. A mass in a similar location was excised 60 years previously. His other ophthalmological history included stable diplopia corrected with prism, left-sided ectropion, bilateral sequential phacoemulsification, and past bilateral ptosis which has been persistent on the left side despite surgical repair and revision. His examination revealed left hypertro...

Surgical Correction of Lower Lid Epiblepharon With Skin-Only Resection Using a Novel Design
This study is to report the surgical outcome of lower lid epiblepharon repair with skin-only resection using a newly designed incision line. A retrospective, noncomparative, interventional case series analysis of 134 eyes of 67 patients, who underwent surgical correction of lower lid epiblepharon with skin-only resection using the new incision design, was performed. After marking the 4 vertical lines at the medial canthus, punctum, midpoint, and lateral canthus, the upper and lower incision lines were drawn from the medial canthus through punctum to the lateral canthus with novel design. After incising the skin along the m...

Clinical Manifestations in Patients Wearing Ocular Prostheses
Conclusions: Upper eyelid ptosis, superior sulcus deepening, and lower eyelid entropion and retraction were the most common clinical manifestations in patients wearing ocular prostheses. When following up with patients with ocular prostheses, it is important to check these eyelid changes and consider making appropriate corrections. (Source: Journal of Craniofacial Surgery)

Medial Canthus Reconstruction with the Paramedian Forehead Flap
Conclusions: Utilization of the paramedian forehead flap leads to successful medial canthal repair with adequate coverage. Although the paramedian forehead flap requires three stages to complete, the procedure leaves patients with aesthetically pleasing results. In addition, the paramedian forehead flap has limited cases of ectropion. With the right expertise and patient population, the paramedian forehead flap can be highly successful in the repair of medial canthal defects. An Unusual Case of Severe Bilateral Extraocular Muscle Enlargement
A 47-year-old woman with a history of metastatic neuroendocrine carcinoid tumor status in remission after liver transplant was hospitalized for workup of a new pancreatic mass concerning for recurrence. Examination revealed restriction of extraocular movements in all directions of gaze, diffuse punctate epithelial erosions, and mechanical lower lid entropion secondary to severe chemosis in both eyes as well as bilateral and symmetric tendon-sparing extraocular muscle enlargement of all extraocular muscles with nodular heterogenous enhancement. Glaucoma management in congenital ectropion uveae: Surgical outcomes from a large tertiary referral center in South India
CONCLUSIONS: CTT is a safe and efficacious primary procedure for management of early-onset glaucoma in CEU. Trabeculectomy with or without adjuvant MMC is a viable second line of treatment in late-onset glaucoma with CEU for IOP control.PMID:35769044 | DOI:10.1177/11206721221111595 (Source: European Journal of Ophthalmology)

Our experience with the management of non-melanoma skin cancers with orbital invasion
ConclusionsThis study shows that orbital exenteration is a treatment with severe morbidity. Hence, every step during NMSC treatment with orbital invasion is unique to each patient and determined by in-depth and objective criteria.Level of evidenceLevel IV, Risk/Prognostic. Correction of severe medial ectropion using a novel osseous fixation technique
CONCLUSIONS: For repair of severe medial ectropion, especially cicatricial and paralytic ectropion, the modified medial "puncture hole" canthoplasty is an effective alternative to traditional repair techniques and does not necessitate the use of anchoring systems such as wiring or microplates.PMID:35576365 | DOI:10.1080/01676830.2022.2075901 (Source: Orbit)

Bilateral Enophthalmos as an Unusual Presenting Feature of Non-Hodgkin’s Orbital Lymphoma
We describe a patient who presented with bilateral enophthalmos and symptomatic, secondary entropion due to bilateral non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma in which orbital fat was replaced by a monoclonal proliferation of small B cells. Low-dose orbital radiotherapy and entropion surgery relieved the patient’s symptoms. (Source: Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery)
