Changes in Lacrimal Punctum Position and Tear Meniscus Height after Correction of Horizontal Laxity in Involutional Lower Eyelid Entropion
CONCLUSIONS: The results of this study imply that lateral shift of the lower lacrimal punctum prevents effective drainage of tears accumulated in the lacrimal lake, resulting in increased TMH after correction of horizontal laxity of the lower eyelid in involutional entropion.PMID:36703702 | PMC:PMC9873414 | DOI:10.1155/2023/4113151 (Source: Journal of Ophthalmology)

Comparison of the cutaneous orbicularis oculi excision treatment with the inferior eyelid margin fixation treatment for congenital lower eyelid entropion
ConclusionsThis modified inferior eyelid margin fixation of the orbicularis eyelid muscle treatment is an ideal procedure with a high degree of efficacy and low recurrence rate in patients with congenital lower eyelid entropion. (Source: International Ophthalmology)

Prospective audit of the phenotype, causes and correlates of trachomatous and non- trachomatous trichiasis in a peri-elimination setting
ConclusionOnly about a quarter of upper eyelid trichiasis in this peri-elimination setting was attributed to trachoma. A distinction between trachomatous and non-trachomatous trichiasis is imperative to meaningfully determine whether elimination of trachoma as a public health problem has occurred. These data may have implications for population-based estimates of TT prevalence in India and other peri-elimination settings. (Source: PLoS Neglected Tropical Diseases)

Evaluation of the Effect of Subciliary Approaches on Lower Eyelid Position in Infraorbital Rim Fractures
Conclusion Subciliary skin-only or step incision approaches can be used safely in the exposure of infraorbital rim fractures, but both approaches must be supported by canthopexy.
