Argon laser trichiasis treatment: Technique, indications and results (report of 230  cases)
J Fr Ophtalmol. 2022 Oct 29:S0181-5512(22)00136-X. doi: 10.1016/j.jfo.2022.01.008. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTTrichiasis is a common misdirection of the eyelashes, creating a sharp point responsible for decreased vision, blepharospasm and corneal irritation. It may cause neurotrophic corneal disease leading to blindness. The etiology of trichiasis remains largely undetermined in our patient base. Treatment is based on pragmatic methods that take into account the ciliary ecosystem and the static and dynamic examination of the eyelids. For this, several therapeutic modalities exist: mechanical epilation, cryotherapy, surg...

Biplanar-pivoted V-Y Flap for Reconstruction of Medial Canthal Defects
Conclusions: The extended mobility of the biplanar-pivoted V-Y flap provides excellent closure of defects involving the medial canthal region with minimal surgical complications. (Source: Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery)

Corneal Complications Secondary to Involutional Entropion at Presentation
Conclusions: At presentation, involutional entropion has mild corneal findings with 95.1% of patients demonstrating superficial punctate keratopathy or normal corneal epithelium. Vision loss is a rare complication and was observed in 1% of patients in this study, all with preexisting corneal pathology. (Source: Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery)

Autologous fat grafting for the correction of cicatricial ectropion
Cicatricial ectropion can be corrected by invasive surgical modalities such as full-thickness skin graft, lateral tarsal strip procedure, etc., which are associated with donor site morbidity and additional scars. Use of autologous fat graft(AFG) in treatment of burn scars has previously shown encouraging clinical results as to skin colour, texture, and softness. Feasibility of Laterocaudal Approach in Comparison with Subtarsal Approach in the Management of Orbital Rim Fractures in Indian Population: A Prospective Study
AbstractA balance between surgical access and aesthetics, with lesser post-op sequelae, is inevitable in the management of facial fractures. Even though various approaches are widely practised, further modifications and revisions are encouraged for better outcomes. We performed a prospective cross-sectional study on 30 patients with Zygomatico-Maxillary Complex (ZMC) fracture with inferior orbital rim involvement. Surgical management was performed using subtarsal (Group A) or laterocaudal (Group B) approach, during which the time taken to expose fracture and the ease of access was documented. Scar evaluation was performed ...

Prevalence and Characteristics of Dupilumab-Induced Ocular Surface Disease in Adults With Atopic Dermatitis
Conclusions: DIOSD is a common adverse event that is usually mild but may lead to treatment interruption and vision-threatening complications. A personal history of asthma and family history of atopic dermatitis may be associated with a higher risk of developing DIOSD. (Source: Cornea)
