Painful anisocoria in a five-year-old child: A rare diagnosis which must not be missed

Long-term outcomes of fornix reconstruction and cicatricial entropion repair in ocular mucous membrane pemphigoid and drug-related secondary pemphigoid
CONCLUSIONS: Fornix reconstruction and cicatricial entropion repair in our cohort of MMP and secondary MMP patients resulted in short-term symptomatic improvement, but recurrence was seen, on average, at 6 months postoperatively.PMID:37028445 | DOI:10.1016/j.jcjo.2023.03.009 (Source: Canadian Journal of Ophthalmology)

Etiologies, periocular manifestations and surgeries for congenital and childhood acquired facial nerve palsy
CONCLUSIONS: Lagophthalmos is the most common finding in children presenting with FNP and needs to be managed early to prevent permanent visual loss. Compared to adults, children may present with a different spectrum of eyelid abnormalities, with lower lid retraction and entropion being the most common eyelid malpositions.PMID:36963996 | DOI:10.1016/j.jfo.2022.11.016 (Source: Journal Francais d Ophtalmologie)

Ectropion following topical 5-fluorouracil treatment
We present a case of a 78-year-old woman who developed unilateral ectropion after topical 5-fluorouracil application. This case highlights the importance of clear patient instruction while prescribing topical 5-fluorouracil. Patients should be advised to wash their hands thoroughly after application. We also stress the importance of counseling patients to keep the medication away from the orbital rim, eye, and eyelid.PMID:36876262 | PMC:PMC9980511 | DOI:10.1080/08998280.2023.2165296 (Source: Baylor University Medical Center Proceedings)
