The regulation roles of miRNAs in Helicobacter pylori infection
AbstractHelicobacter pylori is a kind of Gram-negative bacteria that parasitizes on human gastric mucosa.Helicobacter pylori infection is very common in human beings, which often causes gastrointestinal diseases, including chronic gastritis, duodenal ulcer and gastric cancer. MicroRNAs are a group of endogenous non-coding single stranded RNAs, which play an important role in cell proliferation, differentiation, autophagy, apoptosis and inflammation. In recent years, relevant studies have found that the expression of microRNA is changed afterHelicobacter pylori infection, and then regulate the biological process of host cel...

A Comparison between Traumatic and Atraumatic Over-The-Scope-Clips in patients with Duodenal Ulcer Bleeding: a Retrospective Analysis with Propensity-Score-based Matching
The over-the-scope-clip (OTSC) substantially improved the endoscopic armamentarium for the treatment of severe gastrointestinal bleeding and can potentially overcome limitations of standard clips. Recent data indicated a superiority of OTSC in hemostasis as first and second line therapy. However, the impact of the OTSC design (traumatic (-t) or atraumatic (-a) type) in particular in duodenal ulcer bleeding has not been analyzed so far. (Source: Gastrointestinal Endoscopy)

Stomach and duodenum dose –volume constraints for locally advanced pancreatic cancer patients treated in 15 fractions in combination with chemotherapy
ConclusionIn a large cohort treated with hypofractionated radiotherapy for LAPC, the risk of duodenal/gastric toxicities was associated with duodenum/stomach DVH. Constraining duodenum V44Gy < 9.1 cc, stomach V44Gy < 2 cc, and stomach D0.03 < 45 Gy should keep the toxicity rate at approximately or below 5%. The association with duodenum D0.03 was not sufficiently robust due to the limited number of events, although results suggest that a limit of 45–46 Gy should be safe. (Source: Frontiers in Oncology)

Smoking, alcohol consumption, diabetes, body mass index, and peptic ulcer risk: A two-sample Mendelian randomization study
Conclusion: These findings do not support a causal role of AgeSmk, CigDay, SmkCes, alcohol consumption, and type 2 diabetes in the development of GU and DU. However, it is confirmed that SmkInit and BMI have a causal part in the development of GU and DU. (Source: Frontiers in Genetics)
