Comparison of 'primary repair' and 'placing a drain without repair' methods in duodenum perforations
CONCLUSION: We think that the sutureless drainage method is as effective as the primary repair method in the treatment of duo-denal ulcer perforation and can be safely applied as an alternative to the primary repair method. However, further studies are needed to fully determine the efficacy of the sutureless drainage method.PMID:37278083 | DOI:10.14744/tjtes.2023.92324 (Source: Turkish Journal of Trauma and Emergency Surgery : TJTES)

Efficacy and safety of proton pump inhibitors and H2 receptor antagonists in the initial non ‑eradication treatment of duodenal ulcer: A network meta‑analysis
In conclusion, pantoprazole (40 mg once daily) was the best choice for the initial non-eradication treatment of patients with duodenal ulcer, and cimetidine (400 mg twice daily), omeprazole (20 mg once daily), lansoprazole (15 mg once daily), ilaprazole (5 mg once daily) and rabeprazole (10 mg once daily) could be used as the first choice. If the aforementioned pharmaceuticals cannot be prescribed, famotidine (40 mg twice daily) is recommended.PMID:37206569 | PMC:PMC10189747 | DOI:10.3892/etm.2023.11971 (Source: Experimental and Therapeutic Medicine)

Childhood maltreatment contributes to the medical morbidity of individuals with bipolar disorders
CONCLUSIONS: This large cross-sectional study confirmed a high medical morbidity in BD and its association with childhood maltreatment. The assessment of childhood maltreatment in individuals with BD should be systematically included in routine care and the potential impact on physical health of psycho-social interventions targeting childhood maltreatment and its consequences should be evaluated.PMID:37185275 | DOI:10.1017/S0033291723000922 (Source: Psychological Medicine)
