Early-career general practitioners' perceptions of the utility of vocational training for subsequent independent practice
CONCLUSIONS: In-practice or RTO-led teaching was perceived as more useful for some components of independent practice, whilst for others there was no significant difference. The findings support recognition of the individual educational components of a blended education/training structure.PMID:36851829 | DOI:10.1080/14739879.2023.2176264 (Source: Education for Primary Care)

Knowledge and awareness of colorectal cancer among a predominantly Indigenous Caribbean community
CONCLUSION: Despite limited familiarity with CRC screening, participants broadly believed CRC screening to be important. Health education research is needed to develop patient-centered, culturally appropriate materials about CRC screening and prevention. Future work facilitating productive community partnerships and incorporating prevailing community traditions may align cancer prevention and education initiatives with community priorities.PMID:36737701 | DOI:10.1186/s12889-022-14810-5 (Source: Cancer Control)

Prolonged Enteral Tube Feeding in Infants With a Functional Single Ventricle Is Associated With Adverse Outcomes After Fontan Completion.
To define the baseline characteristics of long-term tube-fed single ventricle patients, investigate associations between long-term enteral tube feeding and growth, and determine associations with long-term outcomes after Fontan procedure. (Source: The Journal of Pediatrics)

Effect of three insect growth regulators on certain biological aspects of the lesser grain borer, Rhyzopertha dominica (Coleoptera: Bostrichidae)
Braz J Biol. 2023 Jan 13;82:e267629. doi: 10.1590/1519-6984.267629. eCollection 2023.ABSTRACTThe current study was performed to evaluate the efficacy of certain insect growth regulators (IGRs), buprofezin, hexaflumuron, and lufenuron, at different concentrations (0.2, 0.4, and 0.8 ppm) against Rhyzopertha dominica in wheat grains. Our data showed that the three IGRs tested at different concentrations significantly affected the mortality of adults to varying extents. The percentage mortality of adults increased with increasing concentrations and time of exposure. After 21 days of treatment, the highest mortality (80.00%, 78...
