Side-by-side comparison of the two widely studied GRPR radiotracers, radiolabeled NeoB and RM2, in a preclinical setting
CONCLUSION: Based on these findings, we conclude that the in vivo tumor-targeting capability of radiolabeled NeoB and RM2 is similar. Additional studies are needed to determine whether the differences observed in physiological organ uptakes, i.e., the pancreas, kidneys, and blood, result in relevant differences in organ absorbed doses when the radiotracers are applied for therapeutic purposes.PMID:37584725 | DOI:10.1007/s00259-023-06364-4 (Source: Molecular Medicine)

Cancers, Vol. 15, Pages 3599: The Multiple Faces of the MRN Complex: Roles in Medulloblastoma and Beyond
useppe Giannini Hypomorphic mutations in MRN complex genes are frequently found in cancer, supporting their role as oncosuppressors. However, unlike canonical oncosuppressors, MRN proteins are often overexpressed in tumor tissues, where they actively work to counteract DSBs induced by both oncogene-dependent RS and radio-chemotherapy. Moreover, at the same time, MRN genes are also essential genes, since the constitutive KO of each component leads to embryonic lethality. Therefore, even though it is paradoxical, MRN genes may work as oncosuppressive, oncopromoting, and essential genes. In this review, we discussed how a...

Ketogenic diet ameliorates autism spectrum disorders-like behaviors via reduced inflammatory factors and microbiota remodeling in BTBR mice
Exp Neurol. 2023 May 4:114432. doi: 10.1016/j.expneurol.2023.114432. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTAutism spectrum disorder (ASD) is increasing, but its complete etiology is still lacking. Recently, application of ketogenic diet (KD) has shown to reduce abnormal behaviors while improving psychological/sociological status in neurodegenerative diseases. However, KD role on ASD and underlying mechanism remains unknown. In this work, KD administered to BTBR and C57BL/6 J (C57) mice reduced social deficits (p = 0.002), repetitive behaviors (p < 0.001) and memory impairments (p = 0.001) in BTBR. Behavioral effects were relate...

PE, or not PE, that is the question: the case of overlooked Lyso-N-acyl-phosphatidylethanolamines
CONCLUSIONS: Overall, our methodology demonstrates to be a robust approach to recognising L-NAPE in complex samples. L-NAPE 18:2-N-18:2, 18:2-N-18:3, 18:3-N-18:2, and 18:2-N-18:1 were the prevailing compounds in the analyzed tomato samples, accounting for more than 90%. In summary, a reliable method for identifying L-NAPE in complex samples is described. The proposed method could prevent overlooking L-NAPE and overestimating isomeric PE species in future lipid analyses.PMID:37117037 | DOI:10.1002/rcm.9527 (Source: Rapid Communications in Mass Spectrometry : RCM)

Exploring different high-capacity tools and extraction modes to characterize the aroma of brewed coffee
Anal Bioanal Chem. 2023 Apr 12. doi: 10.1007/s00216-023-04654-2. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTIn the present work, the potential benefit of using multi-cumulative trapping headspace extraction was explored by comparing the results using solid-phase microextraction (SPME) coated with divinylbenzene/carboxen/polydimethylsiloxane and a probe-like tool coated with polydimethylsiloxane. The efficiency of a single 30-min extraction, already explored in previous work, was compared with that of multiple shorter extractions. We evaluated three different conditions, i.e., three repeated extractions for 10 min each from different sa...
