ADCOMS: is scribing not a good enough clinical experience? I was told that I should get a CNA job instead
Hi, I'm currently getting feedback from an advisor regarding reapplying for the third time; I had weak clinical hours prior to this upcoming cycle but I'll have about 2000 more hours as a scribe at a high-volume cancer center in a T10 university. It's full-time with great benefits, insurance, and pay (more than double of median CNA/EMT wage) so I can't possibly quit this job until I get into medical school since I have to pay for my postbacc student debt soon. The feedback I had was that... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Mercury II
Is anyone not recommending XRT for rectal cancer staged with MRI that is T3 or N1? For instance if it is a T3 N1 tumor but it is seen to to have a "safe" resection plane and not have any on the negative predictors (i.e. EMVI , tumors less than 4.0 cm from the anal verge, and anterior tumors). Transferring Histopathology from India to MD Anderson
I need to get a histopathology slide from India to MD Anderson for my cousin who has rectal cancer. My cousin only has one slide and MD Anderson is asking for the pathology material in the form of glass slide or wax blocks. Is there a company that uses Phillips intellisite or other tech to digitally share imaging? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Job Market in Houston
Hey y'all, I'm a current resident deciding between hospitalist and heme/onc. My end goal is to return back to Houston. I know the job market for Houston tends to be high-paying in most specialties, with lower salaries in the giant medical center academic hospitals. My question is, with MD Anderson and Baylor cancer centers, how are salaries/job offers in the Houston area? Are there well paying jobs in private practice or privademic models as well? Was wondering how or if smaller players are... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

BU vs MCG (Parent with Terminal Illness) by 4/8
Hi all, I am having a hard time deciding between Boston University and Medical College of Georgia. I am in a bit of a hurry because the deadline to accept the Harrison Scholarship for MCG is April 8th. Normally, I would choose BU over MCG, but my mom's cancer has returned as Stage 4 this year, and I don't know how long she has left. The doctors say at least a year or two, but we never know when the treatments will stop working (could be longer). I've lived in Georgia my whole... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)
