Prospective follow-up of asthma and health related quality of life into late adolescence after bronchiolitis in infancy.
Conclusion: This prospective long-term post-bronchiolitis follow-up showed that reporting of dyspnea and reduced quality of life in adolescence were more common in former bronchiolitis patients than in controls. (Source: European Respiratory Journal)

Clinical characteristics and outcome of drug induced interstitial lund disease in pediatric population.
Conclusions: There is a similarity between the causative drugs, clinical and radiological findings in our study with the adult data published, although they differ in terms of prognosis, being more favourable in our series. (Source: European Respiratory Journal)

Diagnostic value of transbronchial cryobiopsy in patients with suspicion of pulmonary graft-versus-host disease after allogeneic hematopoietic cell transplantation
Conclusion: In alloHCT-patients with suspicion of pulmonary cGvHD not fulfilling BOS-criteria, transbronchial cryobiopsy led to a histology-based diagnosis in two-thirds of patients, and – embedded in an MDD - to a final diagnosis in 90% of patients. (Source: European Respiratory Journal)

ICU experience of the Respiratory Syncytial Virus Season after 2 years into the COVID-19 pandemic in a single instituition
Conclusion: NPI measure prevented other virusses from being spread. In 2021, the RSV-season was delayed to November, possibly due to lockdown measures. 2022, saw an increase in numbers of patients being admitted to the hospital, and a greater number of admissions to ICU, with more severe disease, requiring longer stays in ICU, and higher mode of ventilation. Females were more prone to severe disease than males, and children less than one year presenting more commonly. (Source: European Respiratory Journal)

Initial findings from two US-based early COPD cohorts: MAP COPD and SOURCE
Conclusion: High respiratory symptom burden and evidence of emphysema on CT were prevalent in individuals with a smoking history and early COPD, including those without spirometric airflow obstruction. (Source: European Respiratory Journal)

Does early scalloping of the flow volume loop predict chronic lung allograft dysfunction (CLAD)/bronchiolitis obliterans syndrome (BOS) and survival post lung transplantation?
Conclusions: Early detection of scalloping on FV loop is clinically relevant and increases incidence of CLAD-BOS. (Source: European Respiratory Journal)

Prediction of Chronic Lung Allograft Dysfunction by Serum KL-6 Levels
Conclusion: Serum KL-6 levels might be a useful biomarker for RAS prediction, but should be used with caution as other lung diseases could also rise KL-6 levels. Funded by Societat Catalana de Pneumologia. (Source: European Respiratory Journal)

Late Breaking Abstract - Bronchiolitis epidemiology and clinical features: a retrospective analysis
Conclusions: We can speculate that Covid-19 pandemic altered the epidemiology of viral respiratory infections due to viral interference, restrictions and immunological debt. This could have led to an increased median age in 2021-22 and an increased clinical severity in 2022-23. (Source: European Respiratory Journal)

Bronchiolitis in infancy is associated with irreversible obstruction in early adulthood.
Conclusion: Reduced post-bronchodilatation FEV1/FVC-ratio between groups suggests that severe bronchiolitis in infancy may be associated with an irreversible obstructive lung function pattern characteristic to early non-smoking -COPD. (Source: European Respiratory Journal)

Impact of COVID-19 on Childhood Asthma and Wheezing Disorders: Rebound Risk for Rhinovirus Infections
Conclusions: RV was transmitted more efficiently during the COVID-19 pandemic in children hospitalized with wheezing disorders than other respiratory viruses. Our results indicate a rebound risk of RV infections after easing of the COVID-19 restrictions, highlighting the need for continued surveillance of common respiratory viruses. Evaluating physiotherapy interventions for infants with bronchiolitis - a survey study
Conclusions: The physiotherapists reported to use diverse outcome measures for evaluation of their interventions. To a large degree, however, they used subjective measures, which depend on the individual clinician’s interpretation. This study identifies a need for debate and guidelines on valid, reliable, and clinically relevant outcome measures for this patient group. (Source: European Respiratory Journal)

Asthmatic children with an early wheezing: A distinct phenotype?
Conclusion: According to our study, asthmatic children with a history of acute bronchiolitis have an earlier age at symptoms onset with a less probability of allergic asthma and a higher risk of exacerbations. Early wheezing history didn’t impact pulmonary function in our population. (Source: European Respiratory Journal)

Successful Management of Retropharyngeal Lymphangioma with Stridor Using Sirolimus: A Case Report
We report a case of a five-month-old boy diagnosed with retropharyngeal LMs. He presented with a three-day history of fever, cough, and stridor and was initially treated for acute bronchiolitis. A lateral neck radiograph revealed prevertebral widening, suggesting retropharyngeal collection. The patient ’s condition worsened, requiring intubation in the operating room and proceeding with aspirations and drainage. However, the symptoms recurred after a few days, necessitating re-intubation, repeated aspirations and drainage procedures. The patient was intubated, and the neck’s magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) confirmed r...
