How Would You Treat Bipolar Mania and Anxiety
Here's an interesting theoretical case running through my head: Middle-aged man with diagnosis of bipolar with acute mania and anxiety. No other comorbidities. No allergies. Normal labs. This is your first time seeing the patient. How would you treat pharmacologically? If using benzodiazepines, what would you give for maintenance for anxiety? Some possibilities from the top of my head: - treat bipolar only and hope anxiety goes away once mania subsides - give monotherapy that treats... Anyone here using eClinical Works and their Kiosk?
I have joined a practice and they use eClinical. The patients check in with an iPad in which they enter a lot of their past medical history into. Some of this info gets auto-populated into the note so I don't have to re-enter it, but not all of it. For example, the ROS, social history, and family history are all automatically added into the note. The meds, past medical history, allergies and surgical history are not. I have tried calling the support line and they are zero help. Just... Anyone here using eClinical Works and their Kiosk? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Short-term Rooms for Rent in Tulsa, OK
I have two spare bedrooms in a small house in Tulsa, OK available for short term rental for medical students. Both rooms are fully furnished (bed with linens, dresser and closet) with a shared bathroom. You would have access to the washer/dryer, living and dining areas, kitchen and a parking space in the driveway. Wi-Fi internet is available, and plenty fast enough to do any streaming you need. I do have a cat, so beware if you have allergies. The house is approximately 20 minutes from... Short-term Rooms for Rent in Tulsa, OK (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Allergy to Haldol? Give Zyprexa instead?
Hi, I was wondering, on the inpatient unit, or even just in general, say if a patient is allergic to Haldol, say they get a rash, is it okay to use any of the other typical ones like Chlorpromazine? if they have had a dystonic reaction in the past, is it okay to do a SGA like Zyprexa with Cogentin? I'm still trying to wrap my head around all these contraindications and indications as they were a lot easier in med school and I don't want to kill anyone with acute dystonia or NMS as an... Step 2 CS Mistakes (Major Ones)
So I made quite a few major mistakes, mostly for ICE component. Is there any hope for a pass from these? 1. Peds case - missed majority of past history questions not directly related to CC (Got the history for the main complaint and all, but missed past history/social/vaccinations/meds/allergies/etc) Diagnosis was fairly simple so confident in DDx and Workup 2. Missed majority of neuro exam in a case that warranted it. Only did gait. 3. Missed abdominal exam in 2 fatigue... Step 2 CS Mistakes (Major Ones) (Source: Student Doctor Network)
