Stem cell therapy for chronic ischaemic heart disease and congestive heart failure

Ischaemic heart disease is the main cause of heart failure, and a leading cause of death. There is an ongoing search for effective treatments, and the use of bone marrow stem cells is a novel therapy that might help. Enca Martin-Rendon from NHS Blood and Transplant and the University of Oxford and others published their Cochrane Review of the topic in April 2014, and she describes the latest evidence in this podcast.
