Transforming Pancreatic Cancer into an Immunological Disease

NCI ’ s Center for Cancer Research (CCR) Grand Rounds Dr. Jaffee currently serves as Deputy Director for the Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center (SKCCC) at Johns Hopkins University (JHU), and Co-Director of the Immunology Program and Associate Director for Translational Sciences for SKCCC. She established the Cell and Gene Therapy Processing Facility (cGMP facility) at JHU. In 2007, she was appointed Deputy Director for the Institute for Translational and Clinical Research at JHU School of Medicine. She has also served as Chair of the Clinical Research Committee at SKCCC. Dr. Jaffee has served on a number of committees at the National Cancer Institute (NCI) and is currently a member and Chair of the National Cancer Advisory Board. Dr. Jaffee was recently appointed as co-chair of the NCI Blue Ribbon Panel that is providing scientific advice for Vice President Biden ’ s Cancer Moonshot Initiative. She has also served on the Board of Directors for the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR), is a recent Chair of the AACR CIMM Steering Committee, is a member of the AACR Cancer Vaccine Collaborative, and has served as a Co-organizer for the AACR Special Conference on Cancer Immunology in 2010 and 2012, and a Keystone meeting dedicated to Immune Based Therapies in 2015.
