Benign tumors of the superficial lobe of the parotid gland
CONCLUSIONS: A comparison between ECD and SP as surgical procedures for the treatment of benign tumors of the parotid seems inappropriate as their indications do not overlap. ECD showed similar effectiveness and fewer side effects than SP and can be considered the treatment of choice for small, superficial and/or marginal tumors located in the lateral lobe of the parotid gland.PMID:36588495 | DOI:10.47162/RJME.63.3.11 (Source: Romanian Journal of Morphology and Embryology)

Immunohistochemical analysis of cathepsin-D in benign and malignant salivary gland neoplasms. Evaluation of its role as a prognostic indicator
Conclusions: Increased expression of cathepsin-D is observed in the malignant salivary gland neoplasms. This may prove to be a useful marker for the aggressive biologic behavior as well as invasive potential of salivary gland neoplasms. (Source: Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology)

Value of T2-weighted-based radiomics model in distinguishing Warthin tumor from pleomorphic adenoma of the parotid
ConclusionThe radiomics –clinical model performed well in differentiating pleomorphic adenoma from Warthin tumor of the parotid gland.Key points•The clinical model outperformed the radiomics model in distinguishing pleomorphic adenoma from Warthin tumor of the parotid gland.•The radiomics features extracted from T2-weighted images could help differentiate pleomorphic adenoma from Warthin tumor of the parotid gland.•The radiomics –clinical model was superior to the radiomics and the clinical models for differentiating pleomorphic adenoma from Warthin tumor of the parotid gland. Enhanced CT-based texture analysis and radiomics score for differentiation of pleomorphic adenoma, basal cell adenoma, and Warthin tumor of the parotid gland
CONCLUSION: The CT-based radiomics analysis showed favorable predictive performance for differentiating PA, WT, and BCA, thus may be helpful in the clinical decision-making.PMID:36367128 | DOI:10.1259/dmfr.20220009 (Source: Dentomaxillofacial Radiology)
