Simultaneous Expression of PD-1 and PD-L1 in Peripheral and Central Immune Cells and Tumor Cells in the Benign and Malignant Salivary Gland Tumors Microenvironment
ConclusionThe simultaneous presentation of PD-1 and PD-L1 in TCs and ICs of SGTs, their significant association with disease severity as well as the positive correlation between these immune checkpoints may suggest the therapeutic potential of anti-PD-1 and anti-PDL-1 combinational immunotherapy for SGTs. Results of 301 Parotidectomies: A Twenty-Year Experience of One Single Institution
AbstractTo evaluate demographic, clinical, surgical and histopathological results and complications of 301 parotidectomies performed in southern part of Turkey. The results of 297 patients undergoing 301 parotidectomies between 2000 and 2019 were retrospectively reviewed. Four patients underwent bilateral parotidectomy. Age, gender, side and size of lesion, postoperative facial nerve function (FNF) for benign tumors and types of surgery were evaluated. There were 172 male and 125 female patients. Squamous Cell Carcinoma Arising in a Parotid Warthin's Tumor: A Case Report and Literature Review
Ear Nose Throat J. 2022 Aug 25:1455613221123861. doi: 10.1177/01455613221123861. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTWarthin's tumor is the second most common benign neoplasm of the parotid gland. Epithelial malignant transformation of Warthin's tumor, especially to squamous cell carcinoma, is a rare event. The authors present a case report of a 57-year-old male patient with a mass in the left parotid gland. This paper documents the appearance of squamous cell carcinoma within Warthin's tumor of the left parotid gland and reviews the other similar features of 12 cases.PMID:36007016 | DOI:10.1177/01455613221123861 (Source: Ear, N...

Parotid metastases from primary lung cancer: Case series and systematic review of the features
We reported three cases of parotid metastases from lung cancer and then systematically searched similar cases through “Pub-Med” and “Web of Science”. Finally, twenty-three patients were included in the study. Eighty-three percent of which were males, and 19 patients were over 50 years old. In all cases with smoking history mentioned, 93% were smokers. The predominant pathological type was small cell lung cancer (SCLC, 13 patients, 56%). Seventeen combined with other site metastasis, while more than half of which were brain metastases. The survival time ranged from 3months-17years, and as for SCLCs, it was only 3mon...

Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTWarthin's tumors of the head and neck are more common in the parotid and salivary glands and are extremely rare in the nasopharynx. This paper reports the clinical data of a patient with a nasopharyngeal Warthin's tumor and posterior nostril atresia who underwent nasal endoscopic nasal mass resection combined with posterior nostriphoplasty, and the patient has no tumor recurrence during the postoperative follow-up of until 14 months. This case report, combined with a literature review, conducted an in-depth analys...
