Ocular manifestations of liver disease: an important diagnostic aid
ConclusionsBuilding strong associations between ocular and liver pathology will allow for early detection of such conditions, leading to the early implementation of management strategies. While this review outlines several of the existing connections between hepatic and ophthalmic disease, further research is needed in the area in order to strengthen these associations. Assessment of central nervous system vasculitis in children based on high-resolution vascular wall imaging
CONCLUSION: This study underscores the diagnostic value of HR-VWI in CNSV assessment and treatment monitoring, offering a quantitative evaluation of CNSV in children.PMID:38605731 | PMC:PMC11009033 | DOI:10.1093/rap/rkae038 (Source: Adv Data)

The Joint Vasculitis Registry in German-speaking countries (GeVas): subgroup analysis of 266 AAV-patients
CONCLUSIONS: Demographic characteristics are comparable to those in other European countries. Differences were found regarding ANCA status, frequencies of organ manifestations, and therapeutic regimens. The GeVas registry will allow longitudinal observations and prospective outcome measures in AAV.PMID:38607682 | DOI:10.55563/clinexprheumatol/suxkyq (Source: Clinical and Experimental Rheumatology)

Porto-sinusoidal vascular disorder and nephrotic-range proteinuria due to venous vasculitis in Beh çet's disease
We report a case of an Iranian male that presented with porto-sinusoidal vascular disorder due to venous vasculitis as initial manifestation of BD. Despite immunosuppression and anticoagulation, he subsequently developed severe nephrotic-range proteinuria that mimicked a primary renal disease but was completely and immediately ameliorated by stenting of the vena cava. This demonstrates that the proteinuria was caused by increased intraglomerular pressure due to venous outflow obstruction as a consequence of venous vasculitis. To our knowledge, this is the first report of massive proteinuria caused by venous obstruction of ...

Long-term performance of show-jumping horses and relationship with severity of ataxia and complications associated with myeloencephalopathy caused by equine herpes virus-1
CONCLUSIONS AND CLINICAL IMPORTANCE: Horses affected by EHM were able to return to their previous performance levels, but certain clinical variables were negatively associated with postoutbreak performance. Ataxia grade upon admission and the development of systemic signs of vasculitis and urinary complications were potential poor prognostic indicators in sport horses. Variables linked to fatality included prior vaccination against EHV-1, ataxia grade upon admission, and the development of urinary complications.PMID:38609161 | DOI:10.1111/jvim.17070 (Source: Herpes)
