Impact of body mass index on outcome and treatment-related toxicity in young adults with acute lymphoblastic leukemia
CONCLUSION: Severe obesity is associated with worse EFS in young adults treated according to the non-HR arms of the NOPHO ALL2008 protocol. MicroRNA-411-3p motivates methotrexate's cellular uptake and cytotoxicity via targeting Yin-yang 1 in leukemia cells
This study aimed to figure out how microRNA (miR)-411-3p's impacts on methotrexate (MTX)'s cellular uptake and cytotoxicity in acute lymphoblastic leukaemia (ALL) CEM-C1 cells by targeting Yin-yang 1 (YY1). miR-411-3p and YY1 were detected by RT-qPCR or Western blot. Integration of genomic sequencing drives therapeutic targeting of PDGFRA in T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia/lymphoblastic lymphoma
CONCLUSIONS: Refractory T-ALL has not been fully characterized. Alterations in PDGFRA or other targetable kinases may inform therapy for patients with refractory T-ALL who otherwise have limited treatment options. Transcriptome-based analysis of human peripheral blood reveals regulators of immune response in different viral infections
DiscussionThe identified relationships between some of them and virus-induced alteration of immune functions are new and have not been found earlier, e.g., receptors for autocrine motility factor, insulin, prolactin, angiotensin II, and immunoglobulin epsilon. Modulation of the identified receptors can be investigated as one of therapeutic strategies for the treatment of severe viral infections.

We present three cases of bacteremia in immunocompromised patients admitted to our hospital; one patient was receiving chemotherapy for gall bladder carcinoma, the second was on maintenance hemodialysis for chronic kidney disease, and the third was receiving chemotherapy for acute myeloid leukemia. Multimodal Analgesia in Pediatric Cancer Pain Management: A Retrospective Single-Center Study
Conclusions The pain level that pediatric cancer patients endure critically influences their and their family's quality of life. The fact that opioid-related adverse effects associated with pediatric pain management occur far less frequently than previously thought may help prevent opiophobia.
