Impact of dialysis modality on the survival of patients with end-stage renal disease and prior stroke
Conclusions PD was associated with overall poorer survival among patients with diabetes, ESRD and prior stroke and with similar overall survival among patients with ESRD and prior stroke, but without diabetes, compared with HD.

Warfarin Use and the Risk for Stroke and Bleeding in Patients with Atrial Fibrillation Undergoing Dialysis.

Functional outcomes of rehabilitation in patients with subacute stroke on haemodialysis.
CONCLUSION: Dialysis was not an inhibitory factor affecting outcomes during subacute rehabilitation in patients with stroke. Long-term Morbidity and Mortality of Carotid Endarterectomy in Patients with End-stage Renal Disease Receiving Hemodialysis
Conclusions: These data suggest that patients undergoing dialysis were at no greater risk for periprocedural complications when undergoing CEA. Thus, CEA may be effective for stroke prevention in hemodialysis patients.

Contrast-induced nephropathy: A dilemma between loss of neurons or nephrons in the setting of endovascular treatment of acute ischemic stroke.
CONCLUSION: Contrast-induced nephropathy is a relatively common complication after endovascular treatment of acute ischemic stroke and is associated with worse outcome in patients with this condition. Warfarin use, mortality, bleeding and stroke in haemodialysis patients with atrial fibrillation
Conclusions In our population of HD patients with AF, the mortality is very high. OAT is not associated with increased mortality, while antiplatelet drugs are. OAT seems, on the contrary, associated with a better survival; however, it does not decrease the incidence of ischaemic stroke, whereas it increases the incidence of bleeding. Bleeding risk is lower in subjects in whom the INR is kept within the therapeutic range.
