Twenty-Year Results of Surgical Pulmonary Thromboembolectomy in Acute Pulmonary Embolism.
CONCLUSION: Pulmonary embolectomy can be performed in high-risk patients with massive pulmonary embolism with acceptable clinical outcome and good long-term survival.

Efficacy and Safety of Ticagrelor Compared with Clopidogrel in Patients with End-Stage Renal Disease with Acute Myocardial Infarction
ConclusionIn patients with ESRD and AMI, ticagrelor resulted in numerically fewer but statistically nonsignificant rates of in-hospital and 1-year cardiovascular events with no significant increase in bleeding events compared with clopidogrel.

Impact of Discharge Location After Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement On 1-Year Outcomes In Women: Results From The WIN-TAVI Registry
ConclusionsIn women undergoing contemporary TAVR, discharge disposition significantly affects 1-year risk of outcomes even after adjustment for recorded baseline differences. This might suggest the necessity of considering additional factors beyond comorbidities in the TAVR decision-making process.

Relation of Race, Apparent Disability, and Stroke Risk With Warfarin Prescribing for Atrial Fibrillation in Patients Receiving Maintenance Hemodialysis
We examined patterns of warfarin use, and associated factors, after AF diagnosis. This retrospective cohort analysis studied US Medicare patients receiving maintenance dialysis January 1, 2008-June 30, 2010. Demographics, comorbidity, and a durable medical equipment claims-based disability proxy score predicted warfarin prescription after AF diagnosis. The analysis included 8964 patients with non-valvular AF.

Clinical Outcomes of Atherectomy Prior to Percutaneous Coronary Intervention: A Comparative Assessment of Atherectomy in Patients With Obesity (COAP-PCI Subanalysis).
CONCLUSION: In this study assessing atherectomy in obese patients, OA and RA demonstrated comparable outcomes with complication rates within an acceptable range. It demonstrates that OA and RA can be safely performed in this high-risk patient subset with CAC.

Outcomes Associated with Apixaban Use in End-Stage Kidney Disease Patients with Atrial Fibrillation in the United States.
Conclusions -Among ESKD patients with AF on dialysis, apixaban use may be associated with lower risk of major bleeding compared with warfarin, with a standard 5 mg twice a day dose also associated with reductions in thromboembolic and mortality risk.
