Risk of Cardiovascular Diseases Among Older Breast Cancer Survivors in the United States: A Matched Cohort Study.
CONCLUSIONS: Women with a history of breast cancer were at increased risk of several CVDs, persisting into survivorship. Monitoring and managing cardiovascular risk throughout the long-term follow-up of women diagnosed with breast cancer should be a priority.

Potentially fatal complications of systemic air embolism after computed tomography ‐guided transthoracic needle biopsy in lung cancer harboring epithelial growth factor receptor mutation: A case report
Systemic air embolism developed after CT ‐guided TTNB, leading to ST‐elevation, myocardial infarction and acute ischemic stroke. The patient recovered completely without sequelae and was diagnosed with adenocarcinoma harboring activatingEGFR mutation. Treatment with gefitinib showed a response. Gonadotropin-releasing hormone agonists, anti-androgens and the risk of cardio-cerebrovascular disease in prostate cancer patients: an asian population-based observational study
Conclusions: The current study based on Asian population suggests that treatment with neither GnRH agonist nor antiandrogens increases the risk of cardio-cerebrovascular disease compared to patients with ADT-naïve prostate cancer.

Adipose Tissue Distribution and Cardiovascular Disease Risk Among Breast Cancer Survivors.
CONCLUSION: Visceral and intramuscular adiposity were associated with increased CVD incidence after breast cancer diagnosis, independent of pre-existing CVD risk factors and cancer treatments. The increased CVD incidence among normal-weight patients with greater visceral adiposity would go undetected with BMI alone. Measures of adipose tissue distribution may help identify high-risk patients and tailor CVD prevention strategies.

The association between education and risk of major cardiovascular events among prostate cancer patients: a study from the Diet, Cancer and Health study.
CONCLUSIONS: The risk of acute myocardial infarction was increased in prostate cancer patients with short or medium education compared with long education. Although the educational inequality did not seem to be explained by differences in treatment, lifestyle or cardiovascular risk factors, monitoring of cardiovascular health and health promotion should involve all prostate cancer patients regardless of social position to ensure best prognosis for all.

Efficacy and Safety of Rivaroxaban versus Warfarin in Patients with Nonvalvular Atrial Fibrillation and a History of Cancer: Observations from ROCKET AF.
Conclusion: In ROCKET AF, a history of cancer was associated with a higher risk of bleeding and non-cardiovascular death, but not ischemic events. The relative efficacy and safety of rivaroxaban compared with warfarin were not significantly different in patients with and without a history of cancer. The results of this study are exploratory and should be taken in context of the study population, which may not be generalizable to those with advanced malignancy. Further investigation is needed to understand optimal anticoagulation strategies in patients with AF and cancer.

Comparison of coronary artery bypass grafting and percutaneous coronary intervention in patients with heart failure with reduced ejection fraction and multivessel coronary artery disease.
Conclusions: In patients with HFrEF and multivessel CAD revascularization both with CABG and PCI resulted in similar survival rates. PCI is associated with increased risk of recurrent MI and urgent repeat revascularization, whereas the risk of stroke is similar in both methods.

Response to clopidogrel is associated with early neurological deterioration after acute ischemic stroke.
Conclusions: CR and END are fairly common after acute IS. CR is associated with higher risk of END. Clopidogrel plus aspirin combination therapy provides greater inhibition of platelet aggregation, and may afford protection against END.

The secondary prevention of stroke according to cytochrome P450 2C19 genotype in patients with acute large-artery atherosclerosis stroke.
Conclusions: Among IS patients treated with clopidogrel, carriers of a reduced-function CYP2C19 allele had a significantly higher rate of adverse vascular events than did noncarriers. It should avoid prescribing clopidogrel to these patients with known CYP2C19 polymorphisms.
