Thrombolysis After Protamine Reversal of Heparin for Acute Ischemic Stroke After Cardiac Catheterization: Case Report and Literature Review
Conclusions:
There are limited reports of protamine reversal of heparin before IV-tPA administration. To our knowledge, there are only 6 AIS cases including ours. Three cases received 0.6 mg/kg of tPA dose. All have favorable outcomes and no intracranial hemorrhage was reported. Protamine reversal of heparin for AIS after CC seems to be safe. Further studies are needed to confirm the therapeutic safety and efficacy of this strategy.

Rates of Referral to Coronary Angiography After Positron Emission Tomography (PET) Myocardial Perfusion Imaging (MPI)
Conclusions: About 1 in 5 patients undergoing PET MPI are referred for coronary angiography within 90 days of testing, a rate greater than that reported for SPECT MPI, likely due to higher baseline risk of patients undergoing PET MPI testing. While referral rates for coronary angiography varied based on the presence or absence of prior documented clinical CAD and presence of test abnormalities, nearly 36% of patients with moderate-severe ischemia were not referred. Further work is needed to characterize why such patients are not referred for invasive evaluation to optimize the use of PET MPI in this high-risk population.

Transoesophageal echocardiography prior to catheter ablation could be avoided in atrial fibrillation patients with a low risk of stroke and without filling defects in the late-phase MDCT scan: A retrospective analysis of 783 patients

Discussion. Pneumocephalus is defined by two mechanisms: a ball-valve and an inverted bottle concept.1 The ball-valve type implies positive pressure events, such as coughing or valsalva maneuvers, that prevent air escape. Tension pneumocephalus is included in this mechanism, causing a parenchymal mass effect. The inverted bottle theory includes a negative intracranial pressure gradient following cerebrospinal fluid drainage, relieved by air influx. Hydration prevents chronic hyperglycaemic patients from neurological deterioration post ‐ischaemic stroke
ConclusionsChronic hyperglycaemia was associated with the admission NIHSS score and neurological deterioration after excluding the effect of stress hyperglycaemia. Furthermore, hydration therapy may help prevent neurological deterioration.

Peripheral neuropathy as a complication of diabetic ketoacidosis in a child with newly diagnosed diabetes type 1 - case report.
CONCLUSIONS: Acute neuropathy after ketoacidosis is rare complication and its pathomechanism is not clear. Patients with DKA require careful monitoring of neurological functions even after normalization of glycemic parameters.
