Introduction Current efforts to reduce dementia focus on prevention and risk reduction by targeting modifiable risk factors. As dementia and cardiometabolic non-communicable diseases (NCDs) share risk factors, a single risk-estimating tool for dementia and multiple NCDs could be cost-effective and facilitate concurrent assessments as compared with a conventional single approach. Do the technical features of carotid eversion affect early restenosis? Design of a prospective multicenter study
Myointimal hyperplasia restenosis remains a concern following carotid endarterectomy. It occurs in about 6% of people. The 3-year rate of stroke after restenosis is 5.2%. Several risk factors for restenosis have been identified, such as smoking, hypertension, female gender, diabetes, dyslipidemia, or small carotid diameter. The primary objective of this prospective multicenter study was to determine whether the technical characteristics of the eversion technique influence the 1-year rate of restenosis.

Blood pressure trajectory of inpatient stroke rehabilitation patients from the Determining Optimal Post-Stroke Exercise (DOSE) trial over the first 12 months post-stroke
ConclusionBlood pressure increased after inpatient rehabilitation over the first 12 months post-stroke, especially among those with a history of hypertension. The 4-week aerobic gait training intervention did not influence this trajectory.

Conclusions Our data showed that in the DIRECT-MT trial, alteplase did not increase overall ICH for large vessel occlusion patients treated with thrombectomy, but it increased the parenchymal hematoma rate.
