Infections and Risk of Peripartum Stroke During Delivery Admissions Clinical Sciences
Conclusions—Infections present on admission increased stroke risk during delivery admissions in women with and without hypertensive disorders of pregnancy. The results were driven by genitourinary infections and sepsis. Infections may be an underrecognized precipitant of peripartum stroke.

Mechanisms and outcomes of stroke during pregnancy and the postpartum period: A cross-sectional study
Conclusion: Compared with nonpregnant women of the same age group, women with PAS had fewer vascular risk factors. Cerebral venous thrombosis and RCVS were more common in PAS, most of which occurred postpartum. These results provide further evidence for the unique pathophysiology of pregnancy-related stroke, raising important questions for future investigation.

Mechanisms and Outcomes of Ischemic Stroke in Pregnancy and Postpartum: A Retrospective Cross-Sectional Study (P3.070)
CONCLUSIONS: Women with pregnancy-associated ischemic strokes were younger and had fewer vascular risk factors when compared with other young women with ischemic strokes. Outcomes were similar in the two groups, with a substantial proportion of poor outcomes in both groups. Our results are limited by the small sample size and retrospective nature of the study. Risk of Pregnancy-Associated Stroke Across Age Groups: Population-Based Data from New York State (S4.007)
Conclusions: Younger peripartum women, but not older women, are at increased risk of stroke compared to non-pregnant contemporaries. These results suggest that pregnancy itself does not increase the risk of stroke in older women, though they could reflect a tendency for older pregnant women to have above-average cardiovascular health. Strokes Associated With Pregnancy and Puerperium Clinical Sciences
Conclusions—The incidence of pregnancy-associated stroke in Japan did not seem higher than that in other Asian and Western countries. The proportion of hemorrhagic stroke among Japanese women was much higher than that in white women. Preexisting cerebrovascular diseases and reversible cerebral vasoconstriction syndrome play a key role in hemorrhagic and ischemic stroke, respectively.

Maternal n-3 Polyunsaturated Fatty Acid Enriched Diet Commands Fatty Acid Composition in Postnatal Brain and Protects from Neonatal Arterial Focal Stroke
In conclusion, maternal/postnatal n-3 enriched diet markedly rearranges neonatal brain lipid composition and modulates the response to ischemia. Haemorrhagic stroke in term and late preterm neonates
Conclusions In our cohort with acute HS, most presented with seizures, apnoea and/or poor feeding. Fetal distress and CHD were common. Nearly two-thirds had intraparenchymal with intraventricular haemorrhage. Over half were due to haemorrhagic transformation of infarction. Short-term neurologic deficits were present in 47% of survivors.

Thrombolytic Therapy of Acute Ischemic Stroke during Early Pregnancy
Thrombolytic treatment (recombinant tissue plasminogen activator [rt-PA]) has established efficacy in acute ischemic stroke, but pregnancy has been an exclusion criterion for all clinical trials that validated alteplase in acute stroke, so our knowledge about its use in this condition is limited.Herein we report the successful use of intravenous rt-PA thrombolysis, uncomplicated by neither hemorrhage development nor other complication in a woman who was 13 weeks pregnant with acute ischemic stroke.

Stroke in Pregnancy and Review of Current Literature: Arterial Spin-Labeling MRI Can Identify the Presence and Intensity of Collateral Circle
We present a diagnostic strategy in a pregnant woman with suspect of acute stroke. We perform magnetic resonance with arterial spin labeling sequence, an X-ray and contrast medium safe perfusion technique. Arterial spin labeling can detects collateral vessels in patient with acute ischemic stroke. Demonstrating collateral vessels is relevant for better understanding prognosis and for improving the diagnostic assessment in pregnancy.
