Exploring facilitators and barriers to long ‐term behavior change following health–wellness coaching for stroke prevention: A qualitative study conducted in Auckland, New Zealand
ConclusionsEnhancing awareness of personal risk and the impact of potential disease are facilitators of long-term behavior change and should be incorporated into coaching conversations. This supports the process of “waking up” to health needs and the possibility of change, which are important precursors to long-term change. Fluoxetine for stroke recovery improvement - the doubleblind, randomised placebo-controlled FOCUS-Poland trial.
CONCLUSIONS AND CLINICAL IMPLICATIONS: Consistent with other trials based on the FOCUS protocol, fluoxetine did not improve motor recovery or general stroke outcome at six and 12 months in the Polish cohort studied. Community Knowledge and Awareness of Stroke in New Zealand
Introduction: Community knowledge and stroke awareness is crucial for primary prevention of stroke and timely access to stroke treatments including acute reperfusion therapies. We conducted a national telephone survey to quantify the level of community stroke awareness. Methods: A random sample of 400 adults in New Zealand (NZ), stratified by the 4 main ethnic groups, was surveyed. Eligible participants answered stroke awareness questions using both unprompted (open-ended) and prompted questions (using a list).

Correlated Resting-State Functional MRI Activity of Frontostriatal, Thalamic, Temporal, and Cerebellar Brain Regions Differentiates Stroke Survivors with High Compared to Low Depressive Symptom Scores.
Conclusions: We provide evidence that fALFF is sensitive to changes in poststroke depressive symptom severity and implicates frontostriatal and cerebellar regions, consistent with previous studies. The use of multiband analysis could be an effective method to examine neural correlates of depression after stroke.
