Fraxetin protects rat brains from the cerebral stroke via promoting angiogenesis and activating PI3K/Akt pathway
CONCLUSION: Fraxetin has protective effects on the brain ischemia-reperfusion injury and promotes angiogenesis for cerebral repair via phosphorylation of PI3K and Akt.PMID:35285387 | DOI:10.1080/08923973.2022.2052893

An overview of hyperbaric oxygen preconditioning against ischemic stroke
This study comprehensively reviewed the pathophysiology of IS and revealed the underlying mechanism of HBO-PC in protection against IS. The preventive effects of HBO-PC against IS may include inducing antioxidant, anti-inflammation, and anti-apoptosis capacity; activating autophagy and immune responses; upregulating heat shock proteins, hypoxia-inducible factor-1, and erythropoietin; and exerting protective effects upon the blood-brain barrier. In addition, HBO-PC may be considered a safe and effective method to prevent IS in combination with stem cell therapy. Although the benefits of HBO-PC on IS have been widely observe...

Pharmacokinetic and metabolomic analyses of the neuroprotective effects of salvianolic acid A in a rat ischemic stroke model.
In conclusion, a larger amount of SAA enters the central nervous system in ischemia/reperfusion rats to facilitate its protective and regulatory effects on the perturbed metabolism. PMID: 28836583 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

Curcumin protects neural cells against ischemic injury in N2a cells and mouse brain with ischemic stroke
ConclusionCurcumin promotes neuron survival in vivo and in vitro to exert neuroprotective effects against ischemia injury. Moreover, our results for the first time demonstrated curcumin inhibited ischemia‐induced mitochondrial apoptosis via restricting Bax activation, which may be one of the possible mechanisms underlying the neuroprotective effects of curcumin. Fermented rice bran extract improves blood pressure and glucose in stroke-prone spontaneously hypertensive rats
Nutrition&Food Science, Ahead of Print. Purpose The purpose of this study was to evaluate the in vitro and in vivo effects of three varieties of Indonesian fermented rice bran (RB) (Inpari 6, Inpari 30 and Inpara 1). Design/methodology/approach Three types of RB were fermented using Rhizopus oligosporus. The total phenolic content (TPC) was determined using the Folin –Ciocalteau method, and antioxidant activity was analyzed by measuring the 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl free radical scavenging activity (RSA). For in vivo analyses, one week after acclimatization, stroke-prone spontaneously hypertensive rats (n = 4, 12...
