Effect of atorvastatin on expression of TLR4 and NF- κB in stroke rats and its protective effect on brain.
CONCLUSIONS: Atorvastatin can effectively reduce the expression of TLR4 and NF-κB in brain tissue of stroke rats, and has a certain protective effect on cerebral nerve function, which is expected to be the first choice for stroke treatment in the future. PMID: 33155240 [PubMed - in process]

Atorvastatin alleviates microglia-mediated neuroinflammation via modulating the microbial composition and the intestinal barrier function in ischemic stroke mice.

Compliance and echographic carotid plaque evolution in patients with acute ischemic stroke treated with atorvastatin according to usual care.
In conclusion, an irregular compliance has been seen in patients with acute ischemic stroke treated with atorvastatin according to usual care. Nearly one-third of our patients stopped the treatment before the course of a year. The effect on lipids and its pleiotropic effect on atheromatous carotid artery disease might support the long-term use of atorvastatin, regardless of the dose, in patients with acute ischemic stroke. This study investigated the effects of statins on the recovery of NA neuron circuitry and its function after transient focal cerebral ischemia (tFCI). Using the wheat germ agglutinin (WGA) transgene technique combined with the recombinant adenoviral vector system, NA-specific neuronal pathways were labeled, and were identified in the locus coeruleus (LC), where NA neurons originate.
