The impact of Covid-19 lockdown on stroke admissions and treatments in Campania
This study analyses the impact of Covid-19 pandemic and lockdown measures on the incidence of stroke, in Campania, the most densely-populated region in Italy.Methods: we retrospectively analysed data regarding acute stroke patients presenting at 5 Campania stroke hubs, before and after the issue of lockdown in Italy on March 9th, 2020.

SARS-CoV-2 infection and acute ischemic stroke in Lombardy, Italy
ConclusionsIschemic strokes in COVID-19 patients have distinctive risk factor profile and etiology, increased clinical severity and higher in-hospital mortality rate compared to non-COVID-19 patients. A simple model based on clinical and routine laboratory parameters may be useful in identifying ischemic stroke patients with SARS-CoV-2 infection who are unlikely to survive the acute phase.

Comorbidity status of deceased COVID-19 in-patients in Italy
CONCLUSION: In those deceased in-hospital due to COVID-19 in Italy, disease combinations defined by multiple cardio-respiratory, metabolic, and neuropsychiatric diseases occur more frequently than expected. Neurosurgery in times of a pandemic: a survey of neurosurgical services during the COVID-19 outbreak in the Veneto region in Italy.
CONCLUSIONS: This multicenter study describes the effects of a COVID-19 outbreak on neurosurgical activities in a vast region in Italy. Remodulation of neurosurgical activities has resulted in a significant reduction of elective and emergency surgeries compared to previous years. ConclusionDuring SARS-CoV2 pandemic, Italian physicians were forced to work with less instrumental diagnostic resources, relying on their clinical knowledge mostly. The aim of this case report is to highlight the importance of performing a precise neurological evaluation, particularly during these challenging times: it might avoid incorrect diagnosis and favour the discovery of rare clinical diseases.

Neurological complications in pediatric patients with SARS-CoV-2 infection: a systematic review of the literature
ConclusionsOur research highlights the large range of neurological manifestations and their presumed pathogenic pathways associated with SARS-CoV-2 infection in children. Nervous system involvement could be isolated, developing during COVID-19 or after its recovery, or arise in the context of a MIS-C. The most reported neurological manifestations are cerebrovascular accidents, reversible splenial lesions, GBS, benign intracranial hypertension, meningoencephalitis; ADEM is also a possible complication, as we observed in our patient.
