Reoperation for Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting Surgery: Outcomes and Considerations for Expanding Interventional Procedures
Conclusions Redo CABG can be performed safely with low early and late morbidity and mortality. Important predictors of long-term mortality such as age, diabetes, renal disease, and peripheral vascular disease were identified and should guide the treatment strategy chosen for this challenging group of patients.

Hypertension and hyperglycemia and the combination thereof enhances the incidence of chronic kidney disease (CKD) in middle-aged and older males.

Repeated Paradoxical Brain Infarctions in a Patient on Self-Managed Home Hemodialysis Using a Long-Term Indwelling Catheter
We describe the case of a 51-year-old Japanese man with an end-stage kidney disease caused by a 30-year history of type 1 diabetes mellitus. The patient had suffered repeated bilateral multiple brain infarctions within a short period of time after the initiation of a self-managed daily home hemodialysis regimen using a long-term indwelling catheter inserted into the right atrium. Despite extensive examinations, we could not find any embolic causes except for the catheter and a patent foramen ovale (PFO).

Impact of elevated glycosylated hemoglobin on hospital outcome and 1 year survival of primary isolated coronary artery bypass grafting patients

Home blood pressure measurement as a systematic tool for clinical practice in CKD patients: a real-world picture.
CONCLUSIONS: We observed a quite high rate of masked uncontrolled hypertension and of white coat hypertension in stage 3-5ND CKD patients. Office BP measurement, as a single tool, is an inadequate diagnostic procedure in the clinical management of CKD patients. HBPM should be routinely implemented for identifying hypertensive phenotypes and then for avoiding misdiagnosis and mistreatment of pre-dialysis CKD patients in a tertiary care setting. Prognostic Value of High-Sensitivity Versus Conventional Cardiac Troponin T Assays Among Patients With Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus Undergoing Maintenance Hemodialysis
Conclusions In patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus receiving hemodialysis, cardiac TnT is associated with long-term mortality and cardiovascular outcomes. Concentrations of TnT not measurable with acceptable precision using a conventional TnT assay were associated with a poor prognosis when measured using a high-sensitivity assay.
