Research Reveals That Increased Education About Sleep Apnea Leads to Better Outcomes
Sleep-disordered breathing is a problem that should not be taken lightly. Recommended blood pressure targets for diabetes are being challenged
(University of Gothenburg) The Swedish National Board of Health and Welfare recently raised the recommended target blood pressure for patients with diabetes. This may lead to more patients suffering from stroke or heart attack, according to a new study from the Sahlgrenska Academy. The new study is the world's largest on the subject and is based on data from the National Diabetes Register.

Insomnia presents an increasing and significant health issue in paediatric population. What Are Endoscopic Bariatric Therapies?
The high prevalence of overweight and obesity in the United States negatively affects the health of the population. Obesity increases the risk of various diseases, including diabetes mellitus, hypertension, coronary heart disease, sleep apnea, stroke, gatroesophageal reflux disease, gall bladder disease, certain types of malignancy, and non-alcoholic fatty liver diseases.1,2 Reducing obesity in the United States has become a public health priority.1,2 Current approaches to therapeutic weight loss include dietary approaches, lifestyle intervention, pharmacology, and surgery.

CNS Summit 2016 Abstracts of Poster Presentations
Conclusion: Subjects with acutely exacerbated schizophrenia who were eligible for discharge from the inpatient setting and who completed the study demonstrated high rates of adherence using the mobile AI application. Subjects were able to easily use the technology. Use of the platform did not appear to increase the dropout rate. This study demonstrates the feasibility of using AI platforms to ensure high adherence, provide reliable adherence data, and rapidly detect nonadherence in CNS trials.

Daily diet of fresh fruit linked to lower diabetes risk
Conclusion
The study findings – that eating fresh fruit every day does not raise the risk of diabetes, and may reduce it – are reassuring and in line with dietary advice in the UK. It's also helpful to see evidence that people who already have diabetes are likely to benefit from fresh fruit as well, because there has not been much research into fruit-eating for people with diabetes.
